Default FDX Dividend

Just saw where FDX is paying an 11 cent dividend for this quarter...Things must not be that bad..... or are they? I did a search and the dividend is up over this time last year. Hopefully things aren't as bad as I think they are..... any speculation?

Take a look at the company insiders and see who has enough shares so an 11 cent div makes real money for them. An 11 div means nothing to the common share holder on this stock. Semper me if you're on the BOD

$3,000 +/- is nothing to sneeze at during recessionary times . .and just before Christmas shopping. . . . although it doesn't go any where near covering the major loss in equity over the last few months.

Then, there's Fred's losses.

Thank you, Mr. President-Elect!

Expect FedEx to have a decent quarter. Fuel prices have come way down while the top fuel surcharges remained in place. That's a ton of money even with a significant drop in volume that is expected. Looking forward I would expect the fuel surcharges to decrease percentage wise as well as the FedEx announcement concerning the lowering of surcharge costs versus increasing retail prices on customers.

Did I miss something in the recent past that would be a reason to blame the incoming President for anything you just said?

Don't read much, eh?

How about Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson, The Congressional Black Caucus, Acorn . . yadda . .yadda . .yadda . . "Osama Obama" (Ted Kennedy's quote) is UP to his eyeballs in the financial disaster we are about to witness.

But of course...Obviously, it had to be either Clinton or Obama's fault.

I don't think Fred or any of the other directors and officers are counting on the dividend to fill the X-mas stocking.

It has a lot more to do with managing cash on hand and it does send a signal that things are ok - we're in good shape and don't need to be hoarding cash. It totals out at $35Mil which is small potatoes compared to the $1.5Bil in cash on the books at the end of August. Looking at the last 10Q filing, cash on hand grew by $34Mil in the 4th qtr in spite of an $.11 dividend.

Yeah, all politics aside, I think it is quite clear that Frank, Todd, Pelosi and the rest of the lowest rated Congress in history have botched this economy properly with terrible monetary, credit and regulatory policies.
