FDX, Campaign Endorsement Weskalnies
Fellow FedEx Pilots
THIS ELECTION MAY BE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ELECTION EVER FOR FDX PILOTS
I am writing to endorse Mike Weskalnies for Block 11 Rep of Council 26. If you read his campaign letter, it is abundantly clear that Mike has a solid plan to help put us on track for the future. What I like specifically about his campaign letter, is that it avoids the usual political rhetoric and offers real solutions to real problems. Take a close look at Mike. In terms of stamina under pressure and the ability to multitask, Mike has amazingly found time to seek and acquire a law degree, all while maintaining the reputation of a knowledgeable and well respected LCA. So, if you are unsure of where to place your vote, especially in light of recent events, or if you have considered changing your vote, you owe it to yourself to take a close look at Mike. By the way, Mike has told me that he welcomes the opportunity to answer any and all questions, so I urge you all, if you are uncertain about how to vote, or better stated, if you are uncertain about our future, please take a moment and give Mike a call (410-382-9773), because I am certain if you do, you will understand why Mike is the right man at the right time for this job.
In conclusion, we FedEx pilots find ourselves once poised at an important juncture in our evolution as a Union. If you truly want to see positive change, if you want a representative who personifies leadership and professionalism, if you want integrity beyond reproach, then Mike is your candidate. If on the other hand, you want business as usual, than Mike is most certainly not your candidate. In the coming months and years, our MEC will be faced with important, complex issues regarding pay, work rules and retirement as never before and over the years Mike has become very well versed in all of the pertinent issues that face us today. I won’t lie to you; the present day makeup of the MEC is such, that by electing Mike you will be sending a very strong message as to how you wish to see the business of this Union conducted in the months and years ahead. So do your homework, ask tough questions and either way you decide, be sure to vote because, (and I say this as a former MEC Chairman myself), there is much at stake and a strong turnout for this election is in itself, a reflection of our willingness and preparedness to address the challenges that lie ahead.
PS. If you are reading this and you are not eligible to vote in this election, but you know someone who is, please do yourself and all of us a favor by taking the time to call them and ask them to vote for Mike. Yes, this election is that important.

WOW, unobserved kill! Nice work! But....back to the thread. Mike sounds like exactly the kind of INDEPENDENT thinker we need (to supplement those recently added) in the MEC. Unless of course, you agree with DWs thinking that unity means marching lockstep with him. In that case, you'll need to vote for someone else.

AA and BC thanks for the observations and vote of confidence in Mike.
Guys, I don't mean to knock your inputs or brush them aside. However, recent MEC communications appear to be filled with Clinton-speak and with face-to-face talks with MEC reps leadind down the rabbit hole, I would like candidate Mike, personally, to address this issue prior to the election. I would like the candidate to support the recall of our current MEC Chair prior the Chair's term ending.

Greetings AerisArmis and all,
I feel a need to clarify something that is critical. I have not, I repeat NOT, taken a position on who the new MEC chair should be. If a person has made the statement that I support DM for that position, they are mistaken. What I have said in the past is that I have a great deal of respect for him. I have no reservations in that statement. However, I have said simply that and only that.
It is likely that there will be a great deal of exceptional talent for that position. It would be foolish and gravely premature to support any person at this point. If I am in a position wherein I have influence on that decision, I assure all that I will only support the individual who will be the best for this pilot group. Trust me on this, that means a significant change in the way that business is currently being done. The person who convinces me that this will be their reason for taking the job will have my support.
We have a serious battle coming our way. Bottom line, we need to eliminate the disfunction that we have been enduring. My support goes to the guy who recognizes that this pilot group has been made peripheral in union business, and is as committed to unscrewing things as I am.
Cheers, Pablo
