777F Question

777F Question
Boeing's website shows 29 777F orders booked by investors who, as far as I know, do not operate airplanes. GECAS (10), Oak Hill (6), Guggenheim (5), Duecalion (8).
If the plans for these aircraft have been made public, I am not aware of it.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks.

If you build it, they will come.
Strategic planning in some cases. Sometimes we don't find out until late in the game and some don't have a home yet, but like a cute puppy, if someone is looking for one and you have one, it will find a home.

They're all aircraft leasing companies...Oak Hill is starting a new leasing business. As of now the aircraft are earmarked for SAI, but if someone was willing to pay for them... The arrangement makes sense; if SAI goes under or (more likely) can't keep an ETOPS cert on them (or something similar) they can still market their investment (early 777F slots are worth a lot).

Southern Air Incorporated, the successor to Southern Air Transport that went bankrupt several years ago. SAI is owned by Oak Hill Capital Partners (who used to own Cargo 360).
