"FedEx Express Breaks Ground on New Central and Eastern Europe Hub "
http://news.van.fedex.com/intl/gb?node=11773

COLOGNE/FRANKFURT/MAIN, Oct. 20, 2008 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today broke ground on a new hub at the Cologne/Bonn airport, the site of the company’s new Central and Eastern European gateway.

...this should be interesting...what direction are we heading? Away from Paris or in addition to...European domination?

It's to replace Frankfurt, iirc, because of the curfews they're about to put into effect.

..... but that doesn't mean we're TOTALLY out of FRA -- there's still a huge amount of freight that moves in/out of FRA. I think we'll have trips out of there but at a reduced rate. Of course, we could do a pairing like we used to do out of CDG. Remember CDG-FRA-BOM?

IMO, European domination and system flexibility/reliability/redundancy are two reasons.

Do we really know it was a Frenchman? It could have been a jealous UPS guy. According to the company email, no disparaging remarks were heard. The attacker didn't even call the victim a ND or anything, just beat him like a red-headed stepchild. No disrespect intended toward any of you redheads.

Or a DHL guy who thought our guy was a UPS guy! Yeah, that's the ticket!
