Resignation or Termination
Just received an email from my Block Rep. He said that the vote was unanimous to accept FE's resignation, not a vote on his termination. Short of something actually coming from the horse's mouth (FE), I have to trust that my rep is being sincere and that there was no Machiavellian plot to oust him...

Questions like these are always welcome and will be quickly responded to by your MEC Reps through proper lines of Comm.. However, I hope you question us first rather than speculate here.

To save you all the trouble I've done just that. Fred did not resign. He was fired. He may have been forced to submit his resignation, but it was directed by DW.
He does not want to make a big public statement because, rightly so, he doesn't want it to look like he's the one who started the $hit storm that's building.

I hate to say it but I told you this would happen. No union, company, or corporation will ever discuss firings. If you don't believe me, ask a labor lawyer. It's just leads to too much aggravation, and possibly legal issues. As I said before, if you want the particulars, talk with FE. Otherwise, just suck it up and realize that there are secrets out there that you won't be entitled to know.

Bossman (the next day) "It is with great sadness that I reluctantly accepted Peon's resignation today. He did a great, superlative, wonderful, outstanding, job and we are all deeply in debt to his yada yada yada. When you see him on the line, be sure and yada yada yada.
If he did resign, why would he need the MEC's OK? ..."I quit!", ......."sorry we voted not to let you!"

Like all mil veterans, you have my profound thanks for serving but I believe this Union leadership is BROKEN.
Just as the idiom postulates that nature abhors a vacuum, the lack of comm from our ELECTED officials gives rise to these conspiricist theories. You and your brothers on the MEC have given rise to the lack of trust in your word and deeds. I believe its time for a clean house, a new direction. DW will be gone soon, and I think for the good of the membership, anyone in office for more than 12 months should resign as well.
Your well worn arguments won't have any effect on me, its time for a new beginning, a new leadership.
