I think their non-disclosures prevent their participation right now.
But thanks for the vote of confidence in them. You know they are two of the better ones, right?
We're going to need the best we can get going forward to straighten this mess out and I give my support to them.

Really? I emailed Albie a few days ago asking for clarification about FE. Still no response.
So, block rep, what so you?

In meetings till 8 last night, jumpseating in to Mem today, operating tonight, ALPA password expired weds, reset today. Also--rock in my shoe and sun in my eyes. Sorry I cannot give immediate response, but my calendar is open, my number is in VIPs, and I'm in the hub this pm/fri am.
I'm not going to use this forum for ALPA issues but I'll remind everyone we are all rtbing now and you should have an easier time contacting your reps.

Albie,
I was just in Vegas and tried to collect a whole set of those collector trading cards those guys on the street are always flipping and snapping to get your attention. Couldn't do it. I'm missing a few. How'd you do?
I know you were probably off on the side eating a Happy Meal or In-and-Out Burger instead of indulging in the Roman Festival suitable for Caesar's Palace, but even an undercover cop has to hang out with the bad guys....so we understand.....when in Rome.
I noticed last week that there were doormen by the elevators in the Vegas Hotels checking for room keys to keep the prostitutes from getting upstairs? Now I am concerned that some of our MEC members couldn't get up to their rooms after 9:00pm.

One thing that comes to mind is to make sure no one from his administration is in power when he leaves on Jan 20th. I think they have all been drinking the DW koolaide and need to be taken out with him..
that would cure the DW grooming his successor issue you were wondering about iarapilot.

That is a very good turnaround. More important though, did you get straight answers to any questions you might have asked?

Guys,
I rarely post here, but I feel compelled to answer some of the posts in this thread. As someone who was there and has access to the budget, let me start by saying nothing was “over the top”. Yes there was a hospitality suite with free booze; it was paid for out of the pockets of the MEC and the MEC Officers to the tune of $250 each. No dues money was spent on alcohol.
The larger MECs such as ourselves, Delta, Northwest, and Continental as well as some of the smaller regional that combine, set up entertainment booths during the reception dinner. This is a tradition and a near requirement. Delta for example spent $60K flying in a Blues Brother tribute band; Northwest brought a Museum of their airlines history. FedEx MEC set up a jail cell made of wood and cardboard, had some tin cups made and printed out some subpoenas for some prominent members of the BOD (JP, DW, BC, JR, etc.) A mock trial for these people was the entertainment, they were then put in our Jail and had to raise bail money to be released. The cost of our display was about $4K, but the fines raised about $3k for the pilot relief fund.
FedEx is the only MEC with a financial oversight committee. All expenditures are reviewed for waste and rejected if found “over the top” or for that matter anywhere near the top.

Hey Vic.
thanks for standing up.... I'm sure most will agree, all we want is an explanation of what's going on. The last few years have been clouded with secrecy and a profound lack of communication, which has lead to distrust and division in the crew force.
What you're describing seems well within the boundaries of reasonableness, and like others have said here, you guys really do deserve a deal every now and then. Glad you made us look good. I'm satisfied with your explanation. Maybe when we have more unifying and transparent leadership from the top, you won't get questions like this.
thanks
