New passport pages
I know in the past HKG was one of the easiest/quickest places to get new passport pages added, but now you need an appointment and the embassy is across the harbor. The captain on my last trip told me about another embassy that was much quicker, but of course I can't remember where it was. Anybody done this recently?

I did it in Singapore and it was very quick and easy. It was about a 15 minute/$5 (US) cab ride to and from the embassy. Be sure to get a phone number for the cab company from the driver, because they won't wait for you.

Just make sure you ask how long it will take before you hand over your passport. In INC, I went to the embassy, and expected it to only take a few hours (as it had for a fellow crewmember the year before). Instead, I was told I would have to come back the next day to pick it up (she already had it logged in, and would not return it to me until then)

General Information - "U.S. Consulate General Shanghai, China"
At the bottom of the page you'll find the address, and directions on how to get to the office. About 15 min walk from the Hilton a block or so past the Plaza 66 building on Nanjing. Took about 15 minutes, no appt needed.
