100 bucks says that the biggest complainers against the company have several ex-wives, are overweight (these are the healthcare queens), were always the last kids to be picked during recess, and/or who have never been furloughed. The funniest face Ive ever seen is a union nut hearing that his F/O picked up draft. This guy looked like he was about to have a stroke. By the way, if youre retired and youre still posting on this site, please get a life.

jack I'm going to go out on a limb and assume your just a flamer looking to raise the blood pressure of a couple of senior Purple dogs.
You have single handily offended over half the US population (over weight) and 40%+- of the Fedex pilots (captains) and 1/3 of all pilots (divorced). Don't know about the play ground crowd, wouldn't get a truthful answer if you asked anyway, but there must be someone who is skinny, still married, flying captain who was picked last in kick ball and still holds a grudge!
Drew the last comment was aimed at you, care to comment??

HUH !?. .. opps . .sorry . . musta dozed off there. Is it time for the ‘Approach Checklist’ ? . .. OH . . that’s right . .I’M retired !!

Comment? . .hmmmm .. I would probably like to remind the young man that once you have retired is WHEN you finally ‘get a life’ AND have enough energy to enjoy it! DAMN! It feels SO good to get up out of your OWN bed, each and every morning . . after a FULL night’s sleep. . but I am rambling.

. . . and I wonder if HE is going to ‘stop caring’ once the Feds have pulled his ticket .. of course. .he will probably have to work an extra 5 more years than I did . . and have less ‘life’ to enjoy AFTER he is finally retired.

I also wonder if he realizes that us old pharts STILL have a ‘vested interest’ in the old Plantation? You field hands better keep pickin’ Massa’s cotton and tottin‘ those bales . .so us wizened vets can keep depositing those fat checks every month!

Nuff’ said

“Per Diem Only”. . great deal for the guy who was originally scheduled to fly the trip. Some guy, with ulterior motives, comes along and ‘bumps’ your trip for the Per Diem Only . .and you get to stay home and get paid for the trip . . just like you ACTUALLY flew it. I was on both ends of that good deal many times and it felt good . .either way.

Well yeah, "we", I know you guys get screwed as much as the line guys, you just cant ***** about in public. A number of years back I was flying with a management guy. We got to a gateway after 13 hours duty (3rd night in a row of that) and Jerry's Kids decided that they wanted to send us on two more legs. I politely informed the scheduler (I am always polite BTW) that I would exceed max duty and was going to the hotel. the management guy looked at me and said, "man I am so glad you didnt accept another leg because I need to get some sleep, cant go on anymore." I said "thats OK, even if I wasnt timed out I wouldnt fly with you anyways because youre falling asleep standing up."

I wouldnt have a management position no matter how much they paid me or how much stock I got, I like to enjoy my life a little. Thats not meant as a dig on you, its just how I feel. It may be fine for some, but not for me.

Anyways, this poor thread has gotten beaten to death and then kicked a few times, I'm outta here, laters.......

thanks, we do have quite a few great folks. And believe it or not that goes for many of the management folks also. The slogan of UPS is "we're not happy until youre not happy." So I dont see us getting soft anytime soon! Of course we have our tossers too but they are not in the majority thank God. I can say that in well over a decade at OOPS I have only flown with 2 guys that I wouldnt **** on if they were on fire. If the only ***** I had involved the paint on the walls, the bottled water, and the catering I would be ********in in high cotton and wiping with the low leaves.

OK, now I'm outta here, I really mean it this time!<BG>

I just hope they don't paint your crew room some color other than battleship gray, you guy's might get soft and start *****ing about the bottled water or some other crap like us purple pilots. Keep chucking them spears, its great entertainment (and educational too).
