F Street Station: The skinny

The waitress that slapped you should be charged with assault and be fired. Post what Danny has to say about it. Other than a couple of the girls that have been working there for years, I have not been impressed with any of their acts. I had one who was such a @#$% I did not give a tip to. As I left she chased me out the door and wanted to know my name and not for a date either!

Really, and this is no reason to excuse F-st and their employees actions, but I always wonder why on nearly every layover, everyone is afraid to walk a few blocks. Get out, get off the Hilton square and venture south a couple of blocks or west. I chuckle when crews figure walking 300 yards versus 25 yards when it is only 25 degrees F is the world ending. Grow some ba#$%. It is just fresh air!
Head to Humpys, Brewhouse, or Darwins. I know there are not ubiquitous options, but there are, and always have been better joints than F-st.

Concur, I'm in for the boycott on my next ANC layover.
Perhaps a bit risky but effective approach might be to gather up 20 or so of the brethern and go to F street on what should be a busy evening. Take the place over, sit at all the tables, and share some cheese and a round of Anchorage's finest tap water. Nothing gets a business' attention like a crowd of people who are not spending a dime and preventing others from being able to as well. The tab should yield a nice tip as well, say 3 or 4 cents perhaps? A couple of hours ought to send the message pretty clearly, sort of like an informational picket line.... Where's the teamsters when you need them?
I have a friend there that runs tour groups in ANC during the summer, I'll pass the word along about how we're treated at F street.

I'm boycotting. I will also call the bar today and tell them I am boycotting.
Lastly, I will spread the word to everyone I know up here.

I'll do the same today. With the summer tourist season about wrapped up, losing the pilot crowd will definitely sting them. 20-something hockey punks definitely don't spend what we do in places like that.

The only tip that should be given, is to the press.

I encourage everyone to call F Street Station today and kindly and professionally ask what they intend to do to rectify the situation about a fellow aviator of ours being attacked in their establishment. If their answers do not satisfy, advise them that you will not be back and that you will be spreading the word about F-Street Station.
When I was in college, this very same type of thing happened at a very popular pub/restaurant. The manager advised us one night that the customer IS NOT always right, especially on Friday nights when it was so busy.
We organized a boycott with all the sports teams and fraternities. It caught on and another university in town also boycotted.
The place closed down the following year.
This whole incident at F Street really ****es me off. I'd be glad to see that place shut down too.

The other angle is that, for all of us that layover there in ANC, we all stay at hotels that have conceigre(sp) desks. I propose that we all pass the word about what has happened to every one of them as well. Those folks at the hotel desks have an enormous sphere of influence on the tourist traffic at the hotel, don't let it go untapped. Then I'd very politely let the management at F street know that I've done just that.
