F Street Station: The skinny

JUST a thought, guys!
Has anyone considered getting Danny's E-mail and sending him the LINK to this THREAD? It IS in the public domain -and anyone who can 'find' it can read it.
After he reads a few pages of this and mentally does the math of all the lost airline and AF pilot business he is about to sustain; perhaps his 'businessman's sensibilities' might kick in?
The very least, reading the ripping he is taking here will give him a good case of well-deserved heartburn!
Think about it.

I certainly respect everyone's opinions, although I disagree with many of them in the previous 19 pages. Not that anyone cares, but here are some of my takes.
1. The scenario described was a simple assault. The bad guy should be prosecuted. Slice and friends should be doing everything possible to make that happen. Call the ANC cops, the DA, Mayor's office etc.
2. Bars are bars but there is a reasonable expectation of safety, even in F Street. The bar staff and owners are not guilty of the violence, but they sure as heck should have called 911. I bet their inaction and sabatoge constitutes negligence. Doesn't Alaska have strong laws about having to be a good samaritan if you see a stranded motorist and the like? Slice, if you and your bud don't want their money fine--sue them anyway and donate it to the IPA foundation!
3. Danny was right. Stuff like this happens in dumps like his. My wife always says nothing good happens after midnight. Why were Slice and friends out in a bar that late? I understand circadian rhythms and the need to unwind but come on. They all have 6 figure jobs and million dollar careers. Why risk that to drink in an environment that obviously has some thugs?
4. I was a Division I collegiate wrestler and have been practicing Brazillian jiu-jitsu for a few years. I absolutely love to fight and compete. But I shudder to think of myself retaliating in an F street scenario. You can't win. If you beat the assailant to a pulp, his friends and locals can give some detrimental statements to the cops that could lead to your doing time in jail. I doubt UPS scheduling would be understanding to a no-show. If you retaliate chances are someone thuggish enough to attack you for no reason will have equally thuggish friends. I'll take 4 thugs against Chuck Liddel or Anderson Silva in a bar fight anyday. I say don't put yourself in that situation to begin with.

2. I don't have a suit to file, it's up to G if he wants to pursue civil litigation.
3. We were out having drinks and a late night dinner. The place wasn't full of thugs, just one who didn't look suspicious before all this happened. Perhaps if some of these other stories posted here were shared previously, we would have went elsewhere. If I want a beer at 1000 or 0200, I'm well within my rights and will continue to do so. I'm not about to live my life in fear in bars, airplanes, or anywhere else I choose to go in the course of everyday life.
4. I agree.

New to the thread are we? Plenty of posts before me actually say they are not going back and all I do is point out how many views this thread has had and you feel the need to go after me? Are you for real? Why don't you keep your girls tight butt and boys muscle watching secrets to yourself and not impose your fetishes on anyone else here Sparky. While I am not immune from noticing a pretty girl when she walks by, I go out for a beer with my crew and others for the conversation and camaraderie, not for drooling and looking for fights. I have an expectation that the owner of the establishment I go to provide as safe an environment as possible and make sure problems are handled when he can't. Patrons assaulting customers is one thing, employees assaulting customers and getting away with it is another. You have fun there though and while you are looking at "all the young girl's tight little butts" you better check six so your muscle bound college boys don't sneak up on you.

And the other guy never practices with his .38 but figures he can hit you from 2 feet. And....he can. Just plan on the drunk 21-35 male crowd being armed with something and you won't often be disappointed.

1. The guys full name has been forwarded to APD.
2. I don't have a suit to file, it's up to G if he wants to pursue civil litigation.

I wandered by there Wednesday night around 11PM and it was pretty much deserted with no leather jackets (and/or anyone I recognized) in sight. I smiled and headed over to Darwin's where the classy clientele was .
Unless ownership makes it right and really changes their tune (which I doubt) the place is dead to me. Timely considering I had recently been thinking it wasn't what it used to be and/or worth the walk anyway. Afterall, the only constant is change.
