While we can agree to disagree on Slice's handling of this incident, we can use this as a good reminder that:
A) Anchorage is a city like any other, bad things, good things. Don't let your guard down up here just because you are in Sarah's small town Alaska.
B) Any bar in any city on any given night can have some trouble. Keep at least a few of the brain cells from drowning to allow for situational-awareness and avoidance as need be.

Slice,
You are certainly an interesting, and forgiving kind of guy, but I must tell you, your reasoning for not demanding that servers dismissal stinks. Regardless of the fact that you no longer plan to frequent F Street, that waitress has no business being in that business, and her being there should be cause for concern, not only from all the patrons, but also from the F Street's management. The fact that she's worked there a long time is no reason to allow her to hit another person, unless of course it was her spouse
As well, I would have hoped that you'd have openly and forcefully asked your fellow aviators to boycott F Street, instead of saying "guys should make up their own minds." How would you feel if you learned that there had been another attack, on another pilot, there, and that a UPS (or anyone else for that matter) guy had been hit by that woman, slipped off the bar stool, and broken his neck and would never be able to walk again. Of course, I'm taking it to extremes in that example, but hopefully you get the drift.
The only way people will learn is if they are held accountable for their actions.
I'm seriously glad that nobody suffered any long term issues from that night.
JJ

Hey Los....that settles it for me too - especially if the guy's a "fighter pilot too"
i know some C-130 guys up there too (not the commanders though) - but i'm sure they wouldn't pull as much weight with the local civic leaders as the F-22 commanders (or fighter pilots in general)....so.....
P.S. How 'bout them Cowboys on Monday Night?!

There are many nicer places in ANC, no need to get down with the criminals.

How about talking Vinnie into putting a Jet Lag Club in ANC? Flight crews are definitely treated well there and Vinnie looks after you if you lose SA.

I'll be up there this Saturday morning Sept 27th. Consider it done. So I guess I'm off to Humphy's or the Snow Goose. How are the fish tacos?............

Have you guys tried McGinley's? That seems pretty suitable. Right around the corner from Humpy's.

JJ, given the tone of the conversation I truly doubt she would have been let go regardless of what I demanded...Cactus was there maybe he can chime in later and give his take on it. I used the word boycott in my first post. Your paragraph above about the extreme example is the reason I posted all this in the first place. After reading my story and some others on here, do I really need to DEMAND anything for you to not patronize the place again? Should we set up a leather jacket patrol out front? The kid that start all this will most likely be prosecuted and by reading this thread it should cost Danny several thousand dollars in lost business, especially since it appears he isn't going to change anything after our conversation. I did my best in getting the truth out for all to read. As far as I am concerned, if you've read this thread and still go there, you can't say we didn't try to warn you...What else do you want from me?
I got that same impression. He values his long term employees even if they are rough around the edges.
He actually accused Slice of asking her to hit him ...
