Hi Busboy,
What exactly do you want him to do? Well if he knows the individual may be tell the APD. How would you like it if this happened to you and someone knew the person that did it and wouldn't do anything.

Slice,
Thanks for posting this incident. Hockey player, car-guy, whatever, there is definitely a different crowd that has made it their hang-out. When I was there a two months ago, there was a group of 8 or so guys that fit the earlier "gay surfer" description. Big guys, with some muscle and tatoos, drinking loud and acting like Naval Academy grads freshly released from restriction. Wasn't sure what their deal was, but they were pretty obnoxious and possibly threatening. A few times it seemed like a fight might break out. Staff did nothing so we left early.
The bar is covered in aviation memorabilia. If that's the way they treated you and your buddy, after all the money we've poured into that joint, they're done. They can tear down the aviation stuff and turn the bar into yet another Anchorage dive. If the staff is friends with this crowd, let them pay the bills.
I'll be headed to Humpy's from now on or go to the Glacier Brewhouse and spend some of that international per diem.
If boycott is too strong, call it a quarantine...

So do we not press charges for fear of the unknown? Maybe if we do nothing this time, the next time he's ****ed for whatever reason he does it again. Maybe the next guy gets hurt even worse...career ruined due to injury. We can 'what if' this to death.
PS-He's not a hockey player, he works on cars in some capacity.

As far as I'm concerned, Albie's lead's enough for me. I'm never dark'nin their door again, as my Granny used to say.
My point is this: it is probably not a good idea for crew to go in there right now, if they are recognizable at all. I ain't afeared of no future meth mouth, but defending myself could cost me my career (thanks to the good ol' TSA). Something to ponder when you don't feel like making the hike to Humpy's.

I know Slice, and while there are two sides to every story he is not only a fellow cargo dog, but a fellow officer and fighter pilot too. He described the situation and I take his word for it.
I'm not in ANC as much as you guys, but I'll spread the word. I also know both F-22 commanders up there--I'll pass it on to them too.

i know some C-130 guys up there too (not the commanders though) - but i'm sure they wouldn't pull as much weight with the local civic leaders as the F-22 commanders (or fighter pilots in general)....so.....
P.S. How 'bout them Cowboys on Monday Night?!

The only thing that motivates people to behave better is facing consequences. If they are taken to task over it, maybe they'll clean up their acts and it won't happen to some other pilot in the future.

Next person up there, put a note up in the Hilton's Crew Computer Room, just an FYI about what has been going on. Consider it a safety brief.

Hey....Don't we have to be released and go through a 30 day "cooling off period", before we go into self help?
This is great being the judge, jury and executioner. Get the torches! Grab those pitchforks! You there, get a rope!
Has anyone actually heard back from the guilty side? Has anyone thought that maybe the guilty hockey kid's mom may wear lipstick?

If we could only do the same with management now, huh?
Excellent job and I have posted this incident on our company board as well.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the support so far. G has been on here to read it and appreciates it too. He's still a little jacked up with lower back pain. I'm sure he'll be fine in a week or two. Sucks getting old, I guess.
I dropped in and spoke with Danny today. Seems like a nice enough guy. I explained the situation to him. He had some of it right but the staff obviously canted the story to their side a little. He was surprised to find out I was the one that dialed 911. He apologized for the situation and treatment. He asked me if he wanted me to fire the waitress that slapped me. Initially, I said yes. I agreed to 'forgive' her before I left. I did so because I won't be going there anymore so it doesn't matter if she works there. I would hate to find a new bar and put up with her **** elsewhere! So, while our conversation was cordial, the end result was basically no changes were going to come as a result of it. I won't ask people to boycott the man's business. You can make your own decisions based on my experience and that of others here. He confirmed that there were a lot of calls received today. So, again thanks for the support. If the unions could only show this much pilot unity...

You are certainly an interesting, and forgiving kind of guy, but I must tell you, your reasoning for not demanding that servers dismissal stinks. Regardless of the fact that you no longer plan to frequent F Street, that waitress has no business being in that business, and her being there should be cause for concern, not only from all the patrons, but also from the F Street's management. The fact that she's worked there a long time is no reason to allow her to hit another person, unless of course it was her spouse
As well, I would have hoped that you'd have openly and forcefully asked your fellow aviators to boycott F Street, instead of saying "guys should make up their own minds." How would you feel if you learned that there had been another attack, on another pilot, there, and that a UPS (or anyone else for that matter) guy had been hit by that woman, slipped off the bar stool, and broken his neck and would never be able to walk again. Of course, I'm taking it to extremes in that example, but hopefully you get the drift.
The only way people will learn is if they are held accountable for their actions.
I'm seriously glad that nobody suffered any long term issues from that night.
JJ
