I've actually been thinking about emailing Fred about a reverse "B-scale". In other words, if you have 20 years or more at FedEx after Age 60, your hourly rate goes down at a rate that makes up for the pension dollars we negotiated that are being wasted by you and will never be recovered. So if you have 30 years in and are still working, your hourly pay ends up dropping to the point where you are making about 150 to 175k a year. Since most of these guys worked for 10k a year to sit sideways and pour coffee instead of enjoy their time off I am sure they won't mind and will still stick around. We can then use the money they don't get for a VEBA fund for those under 55 at the signing of the last contract. JJ, have I got your vote?
