many have completed training months ago....2 buds are done already and building the program...757 was different!...2 payrates involved....here they figure the payrate at worst will stay the same...although company has a list of current 777 payrates at the other airlines and they are lower than our widebody rates....yikes!

The company would not have done that when UA 777 rate was around 300 an hour.

The Huck Codicil:

1) a premium payrate for the 777, a certain percentage above the other widebodies, in return for:

2) Limiting the right seat to those pilots under 60.

This would solve the scheduling/bidding problem. The only folks that wouldn't like this would be the career F/O's. And they're "part of the problem," right?

So the worst that can happen to them is they retain the same pay rate ! It's all about me... same old story at FDX. I sure hope we start acting like a real union someday soon.

I make more than most CA's at Legacy Carriers in the right seat of the MD11, maybe we should all take pay cuts.

If the company doesn't want to pay A 380 rates; we should call their bluff and say fine; one pay rate for the fleet and a heck of an international override. After all the delta from the 757 to the bus can't be much more than the bus to the 777.

Some facts to consider--

1) We made some concessions in the last contract to secure A380 rates.

2) With no A380, management has "lost" their memory of how negotiations went and wants the MD11 rate for the 777.

3) We have seen other concessionary programs put into place--FDA LOA, accepted fares debacle, unleashing the optimizer, over 60 guys "excessed" from boeing SO to MD11/Airbus CA followed quickly by a bid to excess younger FOs back into the SO seat. It was basically an over 60 vacancy bid, WITH NO VACANCIES. BTW, where is our grievance on that one?

If for no other reason other than to stop management from laughing at us, I say don't settle for a low 777 pay rate.
