UPS Rumor Mill
#121
Not to say that I was counting on them too much, but does anyone know what happened to the four Transmile airplanes listed on http://www.ch-aviation.ch/aircraft.p...ine=5X&al_op=1 ? They were there till a couple of days ago, and now they are not listed. Any ideas?

Rumor: A-Plan Buyout by UPS?
The IPA has received several calls from crewmembers who wanted to know if the IPA Executive Board had been approached by UPS about a possible buyout of the A-Plan. IPA Vice President Bob Brown says that rumor is false. Brown says there has absolutely been no discussion with the EB of a possible A-Plan buyout by UPS.

I hadn't heard that rumor before but it looks like it was just a rumor after all. From IPNN (union) newsletter:

Good info, thanks. Now I guess we can get back to the 'real' business of bashing old dudes.

I'm gonna puke
Uggghhh... I just about hurled this weekend in the ASC. Three Farves were on their way up to ANC in a -400. (two were jumpseaters) They were refering to themselves "Wizards" and talking with glee about all of the other "returning Wizards". I guess with all of the names us under 60 crowd are calling them, they had to come up with something to pump up their ego (besides Viagra).

Yeah....keep up that attitude, some day you will need a ride from as you call a Farve and some of us will remember what little respect you have for some of your fellow pilots. Bigots come in all shapes and ages!!

Won't all vote on union issues but will act like kids when anonymous. Kids of all ages. Wasn't the wizard of oz on the panel behind a curtain of mystery? Is that where the name came from? Sticks and stones...
Really- age bias in jumpseat releasing? Better not be a commuter to pull that, as if it'd carry very long in either direction....
By the by- any MD's like the transmiles need to be in decent shape and I think have the cargo barrier wall installed, not barrier netting. Not sure they were more than spares or parts thoughts.

Some people really love the power to turn down jumpseaters. That is awful. I have seen so many pilots that get such an ego boost from being asked for a ride. Do they have such little control in life that this one little thing gets to be such a thrill? Does turning down a jumpseater make you feel tough and build your ego to make up for other things that are too small?

Not for more than 5 years max... then you’ll be back in the third seat again.

We know these are REALLY selfish folks who failed to properly plan for retirement the first time ... what's changed?
Oooops ... I better knock it off before I get called an "age bigot" and refused a jumpseat
