Default FDX - Another Deviation Bank Question

Okay, another one for you deviation experts (deviants??) out there. I ended up with way more $$ in the bank than I need for the one DH on my line and for the other commuting costs (cabs, parking, etc) that I try and expense. I thought about getting one of those big 'prom special' limos, with the hot tub in the back, to take me to the airport all month, but that seems a bit showy.

So I'm wondering if I can use my bank money to pay for airfare home in the middle of a long weekend layover. It would meet the 3 day test, but I'm afraid the system would freak out, since it is in the middle of a trip. Have any of you ever used bank for this? Is it acceptable?

Also, could I use the company's airfares through Global for this? For that matter can I use those fares if I buy a ticket with bank money to I commute?

Thanks for any help you can give,
Pig

Pig,

I used my deviation bank to pay for taxis/limos (I would usually j/s) home in the middle of a trip several times but it was before the "new" Fox Expense Reporting system. I'd be hesitant to try it now.

Also ... I think there was an FCIF specifically addressing this subject a few years ago. Short version ... not permitted.

Regards,

Mark

While this idea meets the letter of the law in the CBA (expense within 3 days of an activity etc.), I have that hat. They will deny the expense. Attempted to fight it to no avail.

This was about 9 years ago though.

Yes, you can use global travel tickets for commuting, if you are short on bank or do not even have a bank you can payroll deduct any overages.

Two years ago I had a 24 hour EWR layover on thanksgiving. I used my deviation bank to take a limo during that layover with no problem. Alas, this was also before FOX.....
