DHL needs to close doors in Ohio

Actually being a lawyer for politician is nothing more than a public defender that's about to try a case against johny cochran. Remember the politician lawyers are the lowest paid and you get the experience to go with .

Who said they were the best? Of course they said they were the best, they want your MONEY. Of course they SAY you have a strong case, they want your MONEY.
It's been my very heinous experience with lawyers that causes me to say the above. Good luck with everything but make sure you have an exit plan regardless.

Touche!!! Yep, we took a 40% pay hit in bankruptcy. But we only need 22% to equal UPS pay. Looking forward to Dec 09.

Again with the antitrust expert lawyers/pilots in this place. You guys crack me up.
Sure they tell them they are the best because they want their money. Just like the UPS and DHL lawyers that work for law firms and not UPS or DHL tell them they are the best because they want their money. What did you expect they are lawyers.
So when this thing is over and someone loses are you guys going to shut up with the expert legal talk or make up some excuse? Just who is the other side. The ABX and Astar pilots or their companies? The people in the Ohio town or their elected officials? From what little I know it will be the United States vs. DHL and UPS.

Yeah, you guys were doing well, and once were THE premier airline to be at. But, that is all gone. The way UAL is being run now is no better than being at a regional. I've talked to some of your pilots while commercialing to assignments and they are flying 85 -90 hrs hard block a MONTH. I flew 99 hrs my first year here!
By the way, what was your MEC guy thinking back in 2000 when he made the "choking the golden goose" comment? Brilliant on his part...

Kinda correct... We (Emery) weren't bought out by UPS. The snake of a parent company that owned us decided to bankroll a Canadian company after we lost a DC-8 and crew in CA. They knew the Feds were looking at us and our MX and they also knew how bad it was gonna be. Shortly there after we landed with the gear up on a DC-8 in BNA (due to MX) and the Feds took up residence at the Emery HQ in Dayton. As things progressed the freight was slowly moved over to Capitol, and ExpressNet (?). THen after we nearly had a majoy incident at SEA the Feds shut us down and the rest is history. When the Airline was shut down the parent company CF simply filed for bankruptcy and we were all on the streets. Of course, a class action lawsuit was filed so we could actually get paid and the company simply changed the name to Menlo (Frieght Forwarding) and basically told us TS. Menlo was then bought by UPS with the plans from the begining to close the Menlo Dayton location.
Not saying your wrong maybe it was the big plan of the CEO's to make Brown the big dog and get some nice payouts to start closing facilities.

Speaking of Monopolistic practices, anyone interested should read Big Brown and study the huge roadblocks the US postal monopoly threw up to attempt to halt free trade in package delivery. Both UPS and Fedex were forced to sue the government on numerous occasions just for the right to do business in these United States.

It will be 236 an hour this Jan.
And just think, you guys get paid 24 times a year while UPS gets paid 26 times. (900 vs. 975)
Good Luck-
158 x 1.45=229 an hour.

I'm sick and tired of this thread. Lots of bashing going around and now UAL bashing. Being happy about someone else's bad situation is not the right way be. We all made the best choices we could at the time and went with who didn't turn us down. Many, many folks were turned down when they should not have been (This is, of course, at the heart of hatred toward other carriers.)
At the heart of all this BS is the American way of wanting to tear down labor contracts and retirements which includes tearing down "old" companies in favor of startups. Always bad for someone trying to be loyal to one company their whole life.
Again, sick of this thread. We should all try to be a little more giving....
