Not to excuse Olly, but I believe it was a c/o trip, so once he had it, no way to drop it!"
As I said, then in that case it is understandable. My point was not to slam Olly. It was to explain how the union leadership not taking a stronger stance on DP flying hinders the work of the SIG and puts the onus of risk squarely on individual pilots that call them out.

"So asking a guy why he flew a DP is calling him out? You guys are a little sensitive, like calender blockers. "
Yes I am a littlle sensitive but Dr Phil, Oprah and soon to be Senator Stuart Smalley all say that is OK. Seriously though I know of several cases where th DP flyer went to his ACP and complained about being harrased. At that point what was said is your word against theirs as to whether it was truly harrasment or not. I don't think the ACP's have acted on any of this yet but I know they are concerned. Bottom line is we need stronger backing for the SIG by union leadership on this IMHO.

This kinda garbage is what I'm talking about when I say weasel like behavior. You can ask anyone a simple question. Just don't be bugging him/her in the airplane or during preflight duty about it with a crowd available to witness against you. Try the van ride to the hotel or the elevator.
Too many think they can fly these things, pee on our shoes, and expect us to just smile and say, "That's just how Joe I've got mine rolls." Be it from ignorance, boldness or just plan obnoxiousness, you can expect the proper reaction. No matter how many times you run to the ACP....
It is not the Union's job to tell any crewmember they can't do things legally allowed by contract. That would cause a lawsuit.

No need to argue. We are on the same side with this issue. I just think a list published on the union website with the names of those that have voluntarily flown a DP and how many of them they flew would be a heck of a lot more effective than letting individual pilots risk a meeting with an ACP when some lousy DP flying POS lies to them about being harrased. As far as I know, there are no lawsuits preventing the non members list from being published.

I would like to the names published too. But I bet ALPA legal says otherwise.
I bet the company would spend 10x the amount saved with Fuel Sense and the "enhanced" accepted fare program to keep those names off the ALPA site.
