Just to close the loop. It was supposed to be a RAT. After a call CRS and crew control, I was removed and re-assigned as a RAT. I'll turn a 73 CH trip into 91 CH with a phone call anyday.
I'm sure scheduling was just about to call and get that straightened out - they only made the change two weeks ago. I should have been a little more patient.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Just out of curiosity - on your pay summary, what pay code does it have for that trip now?
If it is any of the following:
Trips held in the following pay codes are eligible for disruption pay: TRP, AST, SOF, SWP, M/U, MUV, MUD, MUS and CIA
Trips held in the following pay codes are eligible for extra duty period pay: TRP, AST, SOF, SWP, M/U, MUV, MUD, MUS and CIA
you might be eligible for some extra - yours is probably RAT, so not eligible (just a guess).
at least you get the 125% which ain't bad.
just to keep in my bag of clues for next time this happens to me.
thanks.

I'll be buying beers for the F/O who emailed me with the heads up. Based on the euro rate maybe one of us will get a buzz off $2500 in beer.
Off to Deutschland Morgen.

anyone know what SOF code is?
i've had SON (swap on) when I traded a trip out of open time, but never had SOF?
and while we're at it, what's SWP?
anyone know where these codes are defined? (they're not defined in the CBA that I could find?)

What happens if you turn down a RAT trip? Are you then able to elect OTP?
I have a trip in August which has been extended 24 hours but have not been notified of anything. I do need to drop this trip rather than fly it because the day it extended into is a day I need off.
P.S. Yes, I have been reading the contract, but I'm not a lawyer.

Then CRS is supposed to notify you and "Offer" you a RAT. At that time you have the option of accepting or declining.
If you decline you are pay protected fo 2 Bid periods but will need to make up time.
If you decline and accept OTP, you go into open time (Good Luck) and try to find another trip. Then you go to Make up tab and check OTP. You are supposed to get head of the line priviledges for that trip. As previously Stated, OTP pays 125% but you get no further Contract protections, Disruptions, Xtra duty pay etc.
The problem is CRS often tends to speed up the process. If your Origninal Trip is Cnx or revised outside contractual parameters, CRS just drops the trip and immediately assigns you a RAT trip which is often the very same trip with subtle differences. Often the crew members nevers knows this occurs until he/she checks VIPS. I personally never check VIPS once I get next months schedule!
Crew schedules is really supposed to Call you and tell you that your Trip has been Cancelled and notify you that you are in SUB, If they have a RAT trip already waiting to assign you, they are Supposed to aks you if you want it?
Contractual Grey area seems to allow VIPS as a secondary notification, but I rarely check VIPS or my Schedule once I get it. Theoretically, if you were assigned a RAT trip and CRS never called you and you never checked your schedule, you could decline said trip one hour prior to departure when you preformed your check in an were "Notified" Via Vips.
Long winded but hI hope this answers your question.

Thanks Redeye,
Your explanation does help, but do I have to pick up an OTP trip at the same time that I declined the RAT trip or can I pick up OTP makeup trips over the next two bid periods. I want to have my ducks in a row before I call CRS.
BTW, I never was notified even by VIPS and the trip shows a pay code of TRP.
