At least according to my local AT&T store.
I'd only add AT&T plans except the data plan (internet plan - $30/months) which is not eligible for the employee discount...

That is correct. AT&T is subsidizing Apple on every phone purchased. AT&T raised the monthly rate for the data plan from $20 to $30 and that over a 2 year contract more than covers their cost to Apple for the phone. If you lose the iPhone and walk in for a replacement while you are still under your 2 year contract, you will pay the $499 (8G) or $599 (16G) for another one.

Default FDX: apple discount website

Anybody remember the website for FDX apple discounts? (non-iphone) I don't mean the intranet site, I'm not gonna go to the ramp or wait until I have a trip just to look at a website. It was on the cargo forum a while ago and it disappeared. Anyone? Beuller?

Thanks...

Apple Store (U.S.) - Welcome to the Apple Store

This is not the regular Apple store, it is our EPP (Employee Purchase Program or something like that) website with the discounts...

I have the new iPhone in my bag right now while I'm overseas. I know it will work but I don't plan to turn it on. AT&T's international plans are way overpriced. I may look into unlocking the phone some time in the future so I can use local SIM cards. Also make sure your settings for data are where you want them. I've read on a couple of Apple forums of people turning on their iPhones overseas and not really using them much but coming home to huge bills for data downloads. This phone will download data beyond what you actually ask for and if you aren't on an intenational plan you could be hit with a bill for several hundred dollars!

-iPhone, version 1 was NOT eligible for any discounts.
-iPhone, 3G IS eligible for the discount (22% off)

Here is the catch, and it's a BIG one...

You cannot get this discount at the Apple store! You must do it at an AT&T store. Also, my local AT&T guy said that he thought he read something about BOTH the voice & data plan will get the discount; however, he said that his only commitment at this point was that the voice plan was discounted for sure, but the data plan might be as well.

To get the discount, here is what you need and need 2 do...
-Print out your company's "Foundation Account Number" (FAN#)
FedEx guys, it's behind the firewall at:
http://hronline.corp.fedex.com/benef...life/att.shtml

-Bring a copy of your company ID

-Go to the AT&T store to buy your new iPhone and give them that number.
THAT'S IT!!

That being said, here was my ordeal today for reference...
-I went to my local AT&T store this morning, but they were sold out of the iPhone. I gave the guy my FAN number and inquired about the discount, and he put it in my account, and said, "the discount is in the computer." I then said I was going to the Apple store in town.

-I went to the Apple store - long line, but fun time. The Apple folks kept passing by saying that if your company pays for part of your phone, Apple cannot activate or sell you one. (Didn't say anything about the good-ole AT&T discount.)

-So I make it into the store, and as the lady was activating the phone, AT&T's computer wouldn't let her, and she had to call AT&T whose operator I spoke with said that only an "Enterprise Version" plan could be activated by Apple with a discount.

-I said, ok then take the discount away (I'm not paying $45/month for that.) I got the phone activated and out the door I went.

-I then stopped by my AT&T store on the way home, and they quickly re-applied my FAN discount to my account with no problems. Only downside is that they said that since it was put on AFTER a new activation, it may take 2-3 billing cycles for the discount to appear, but it is retroactive once it is applied.

Good Luck!
NOT ENTIRELY CORRECT. This info is for NEW AT&T customers migrating to AT&T to get the iPhone. I bought my iPhone on opening day at an Apple Store. I was 34th in line. I went home and played with the phone for a couple of days (basically because I knew AT&T and Apple were swamped after opening day) and then I went online and applied my FedEx discount. It was no problem and I also called AT&T to verify and the gal said yes I see your FedEx discount on the account. In an earlier post on this thread I explain how to get the discount. NO going to the "green screen" either. Some people on here are making the process harder than it is. Look at my previous post #25.
