Hey boxhauler,

Did you mean 1000 hrs of flight time or pay credit? That seems like a lot of flight time for you guys. Just curious.

I think that you mean 1000 Credit Hours for pay. I work a normal year of flying and log about 3-400 hours. I end up with a little over 1000 hours for pay.

Clutch

Sorry, i meant credit hours for pay. we dont actually fly nearly that much block time. i think the averages work out to be about 900 credit hours for pay. most guys work a little more than average. some *****s work alot more than average. i flew with a captain last month who only had one day scheduled off that month. i checked his previous 3 months and it was essentially the same. i understand high five for retirement, but that seemed liek overkill!

Little on the light side, we'll have to see what other scheduling issues are fixed.

I think we are just about to that point now don't you? Over 2 years...little progress. We are shooting ourselves in the proverbial foot if people fly extra. What good does it do if 90% of the pilots don't ***** themselves and the other 10% fly all the draft and volunteer? We all need to be united on this and pass the word that we are just hurting ourselves. I was just fine with people flying extra when we were in early stages of this and we had some optimism about the company's motives. Unfortuneately, I think that has been proven a flawed opinion. Right now the company is more than willing to drag this out forever. It is in their own best interests and the reason for that is life is just "ops normal" for some of our pilots. The company continues to ask and throw a little extra money and we deliver, at what cost?

What makes you think that only 10% accept draft and volunteer? Looks more like 90% accept draft and volunteer and 10% don't. Why would an individual that has to retire in the next 5 years hold his/her earnings down that will cause a reduced pension for 15-30+ years? What does the NC expect to achieve that the age 50+ guys would get excited about? BTW I've been above the max FAE for a couple of years now so I usually don't look for any extra flying.

I certainly can't speak (or pretend to have inside info on) exact numbers, however, if you attended to the rally last Sunday I think your estimate of 90% doing it is way off.

The bottom line is if pilots elected QOL over extra work until we get a done deal..........there is no doubt the deal will be concluded sooner than later.
Hopefully there will be enhancements to retirement.....i.e. B-plan % bump or higest 3 instead of highest 5..........more 401 fund choices.

Rhetorical question............( for all FDX pilots)

Do you prefer to agree on a deal in the next 2 months ot the next 16?

If guys would llok long term instead of near term..............you get the drift.

I can look myself in the mirror and know I am doing 100% to get a good contract..............and I haven't got my High 5 yet!

The 90% I mentioned was just a number, like the previous 90%. I also have no idea what that number is, but management does. These self starting job actions are self defeating. When you yell no draft, no volunteer, no vacation sell back, and it flops. What message have you sent management?

A large number of pilots do not have long term. Any enhancement of the "B" plan contribution is pocket change to them. Get the drift?
