This whole thing is ridiculous!! FEDEX IS STILL MAKING MONEY!!! WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?! I'm tired of reading of BLGs reductions and furloughs.

A BLG reduction is BS!

A furlough is BS!

WE ARE STILL MAKING MONEY!!!

If we were in such dire straits, why pay hundreds of millions to rid the Kinkos name? How wise was THAT?

I got you answer, how about posting the 777 bid now?

How about quit f-ing around with this sh!tty LOA and give us PROPER incentive to move overseas to haul freight...a frigging E-1 makes more COLA than what was offered.
making money? i guess you are right...it is the equivalent of me investing $10,000 and making $.04 ....it's kinda making money...

Sec 13.A.11.
Pilots needing more information regarding possible benefit
continuation during or after a leave of absence should consult an
Association official, benefits specialist, personnel representative,
legal representative and/or refer to their Pilot Benefits Book
(PBB).

7. A pilot on a leave of absence shall continue to accrue seniority
and longevity for the duration of the leave of absence, except
longevity accrual for a pilot on a Personal Leave of Absence
shall be limited to 60 days. Adjustments to longevity, if any, shall
be made upon a pilot’s return from a leave of absence.

Magic Rat is EXACTLT right. Give me a break. FedEx is in great shape. Yes, oil is high, but we do tack on fuel surcharges. Will it cover it all? Probably not, but it will cover most of it. Now stop with the BS and doom and gloom and don't start thinking concessions. That's what "they" want you to think with contract time approaching. remember we have 777's and 757's coming and oh yea, the 777 will probably require 40 pilots/plane. I predict hiring in 2 years.

Someone tell me where in the contract it says FedEx has to be losing money in order to furlough.

3 weeks ago I thought this was not the plan. This week it looks like the plan.

If you discount the one time charge for tubing the Kinko's name (as is common practice in evaluating a companies health) we made a very nice profit; especially considering the economic doom and gloom being spread by our fearless leadership. One man's opinion is the economy has turned the corner. It takes six mos. for those turn around #'s to show on the reports and the talking head shows. This latest round of tail chasing is nothing more than posturing for contract 2010. In truth, the bean counters have already switched from total cost control/cutting, to postioning for the market upswing. By all counts we are 6-9 mos. ahead of Brand X and extending.

Bingo. How correct! When are some folks going to stop thinking the Company is in dire straits? Geez. Those that believe FedEx is hurting are kool aid drinking sheep.

If the union doesn't blow a gasket if we furlough while making profit...then I don't know what.

I mean, didn't they teach that in Furlough Etiquette 101?

How about furloughing the guy that suggested we pay over 300 million to lose the Kinko's name?

People are standing in line now at FedExOffice...that made ALL the difference!

It's the membership. Some are already upset we are at 68/85 with less carryover. If they have to suck up 58 or whatever is being offered, THEY will blow a gasket.

The only folks standing between furloughing the 400 junior folks to appease some senior folks are the union reps.

Thank God for our brave Men and Women standing in front of the company and the geezers shouting No don't touch the young ones.

The only folks standing between furlough may be a little strong. As our CBA requires them to do just what they are doing. I would be a little more impressed if the union would tell us just what their position is on the 48 hour blg requirement. For example is it fleet wide, does 48 hours become the low BLG with 61 the high?

Maybe. Couple other things help too:
  • PC's daughter is about 22 from the bottom (on the master senority list).
  • 95% of the unfilled HKG FO seat would be gone.
