The same amount of non-pilots that have a current contract.

I'll wait and see until the month starts to see if the buy-up takes place. FWIW, I had a weekend layover that provided approx 6 hours of carry-over. Maybe they added the six hours and since it was over 68 (barely), I don't receive the buy-up portion??

If the company reduces BLG and does not furlough, how does that make PC a liar? Or DW hiding information?

I was at the meeting DW stated that the company had not approached ALPA regarding a reduction in BLG. However, if the company wants to reduce BLG per the contract, it just takes one call.

Think about it. Two months ago the company bought up 700 hours of wide-body pay to make BLG of 68. What have they done for June? July? If the company can save a penny by stating that they are looking at furloughing, but instead reduce BLG to 58 hours (+13), they just saved hundred of thousands of dollars per month for the next two years.

Do the math: 700 hrs * $185 = $129,500
(The $185/hr number is a guess between Captain and F/O pay)

If we are in a down turn for 18 to 24 months: $2,331,000 to $3,108,000 for the time frame enumerated. That is HUGE cost savings for the company. (This isn't counting the 727 buy-up, which is substantially less, but still a factor)

Everyone still will be employed, company provided health care, etc. Just less in the pocket book every month. It just isn't FDX feeling the pain. Have you looked at plant closures around the country? Unemployment rates? Wall Street is losing 60,000 jobs in NYC this year. How many other airlines have shut their doors since January? Or furloughed?

Don't be like the Airbus Captain who stood up at the Hub Turn Meeting and stated that 10% of the pilot force is harming the other 90% and that the bottom 10% need to be relieved of their positions.
I'm not sure if you're referencing my post or not, but I said that if we furlough anytime soon, then, yes, PC would be a liar. I say that because he has said repeatedly we won't furlough. IMO, a furlough plan is thought out by management more than 1 month in advance. If the company reduces BLG in anticipation of a furlough anytime soon, then I would say PC had advance knowledge of that plan. Which, makes him a liar. I realize DW said the company has not approached the union. That's a big difference from PC and DW talking informally and having the nudge, nudge, wink, wink here's what we're gonna do but keep it quiet until it's announced conversation. And, yes, I think DW is capable of that. Second, my post is nothing like the dude who stood up at the hub meeting and advocated a furlough. I advocate the complete opposite of that guys position.

I have a one day carry over also, but still show a 2+08 BLG ADJ in the second line of my pay summary

Bid pack still shows min blg of 68 hrs, so once secondary lines are completed, your pay summary should show the additional pay required to meet minimum of 68 hrs. regardless of carryover.

Deuce 130: The post was more of a "general" observation versus a reference to your post. I, in no way, would put your comments on the same plane as the Airbus Captain.

I showed a few numbers depicting the savings of lowering the BLGs and no "buying up" the lines to 68. The money is huge and something that the bean counters could have looked at in the last few weeks.

Also, in one FCIF PC stated that we do not have a "bump and flush" bid system and about a week later we had an "Excess of 1" in the seats. I think the attorneys finally looked at the displacement bid process and figured out a way to "bump and flush" and PC really believed it couldn't be done except for excess infinity bidding.

And for everyone who has been bought-up, thank you for the responses. Maybe I am anomaly.

Hell, FDX has managed to get many of them to give back half of their pay to subsidize their working past 60 with 25 years of service. I'd say the company wins that discussion ...

FWIW....August is a 5 week month, so the min BLG would be 60 (+13). Why are talking about 58 hours NOW? That should be for September......
