Flying the 400 and here's my view
1. Every seat is full and persons getting bumped by all the p3
2. The trips will get longer ONT HNL HKG ANC. According to chief pilot this will be the longest trip for the next year.
3. Plan on 5 commuts a month and many trips have one or two days off in between.
4. Hotels in the summer 250 plus a night
5. Crash pads are 350 a month and you need a car
6. Cars even crappy one and you need a good one for the winters are expensive compared to lower 48
7. Only more people trying for the jump seat. 51 more to hit the line by dec 31th
8. UA and F9 cutting all direct flts from den and ord in sept.
9. Trying to get on AK airlines from PDX or SEA, well good luck and say high to the 7 million ak and NWA guys trying to do the same
10. Buy tickes off season $$$$$$$$$
11. the 400 is only cat 1 and will not be cat 3 till sometime in Jan. Look out for the wx
IF YOU CAN STAY IN THE LOWER 48 FLYING ANYTHING, SAY YOURSELF DON'T SMELL THE GLUE.

I have a funny feeling I'm going to get bumped up to ANC after the displacement bid, so I'll be commuting from ONT, LAX, or SFO. I don't think that UPS 80 (MD-11) out of ONT is ever loaded with jumpseaters, but I could be wrong. Seems like there are always seats on that flight.

With some of our own guys mis-interpreting the "jumpseat matrix". expect them to leave you behind even if there are seats open. Been there!

It's time we publish names of captains who deny jumpseaters going to work/home.

The seats are packed most days. Matrix??????? Its only a 4.5 hour flight for christsakes!!!!! Oh well, I'll be headed up there as well most likely.......

. Brilliant of UPS to pit line pilot against line pilot though, I'll give em credit. Why we put it in is beyond me, company will always get there crews moved by us anyway, yet we divide and conquer in our own ranks. Marvelous
