FDX - Just when you thought Reserve was safe...
I was told from a good source...that the company wants to use the Reserve crews more. So when there is a sick call on a check-ride or sim, rather than pay a flex overtime...they will be calling in a Reserve pilot to fly support. I guess I better get the books out.

Obviously not! You get some notice right? Isn't your sim somewhere else? In MEM or ANC, we could be given 3 hours notice. I am assuming you would have a d/h, etc. In other words, some time to prepare?

What happens in the sim would never happen in the airplane?

Doesn't even look like BWP is a FedEx pilot, not sure why he is worried about our reserves.
Whats up with that BWP?

I'll take info from a poolie or outside source anytime. Not sure if this one is totally good but it's source may be related to current reserve utilization efforts.
One fact is our reserves are much fewer for June. Someone has a hard on for wanting to reduce the number of pre-leveled reserve junkies out there every month. I'm sure it's part of the sharing the pain effort.
