Yes, but that previous post was from January. It is a resolved issue.

But you're right, I should've known better than to have gotten a lease on a place before the company actually moved me. I should've known not to trust a bid, even though no bid had ever been cancelled before. Luckily the cancellation only cost me $7,000 and not more.

I still think the advice sought in my January post about the bid cancellation is very different from the original poster's questions about the two widebodies, however. Make up your own mind and bid what you want to fly, I say. He was only posting to preen about his fantastic seniority.

Goes...contact your rep if you haven't, as well as the company. I think the company is willing to help cover some of those expenses. The legal team at ALPA is another option too.

I know it sounds strange after arguing over nickels with accepted fares, etc but what I am hearing is that you can in fact get reimbursed for some of those expenses you absorbed. I'm NOT the exprert on this--but Vic in block 4 had the same thing happen and I'm sure he's probably got the right folks to talk to on speed dial.

Good luck--let me know if you need help.

Actually, they have cancelled a bid before. And get this, it was after they had started training people for that bid. Things got very diched up for guys that had swapped training dates, passover issues, etc.

Of course, we didn't have a contract at the time. So, they just kind of made up the rules as they went along.

OK, I stand corrected. Well if it isn't unprecedented it is indeed rare.

Sir Albie: I would love to have some portion of my expenses regained. Please PM me if you have any info, but I don't think I rate any relief. I think it is a "buyer beware" situation. I've asked around with nothing but shrugs from the company and alpa. Short of a demand letter from my lawyer, I am resigned to being glad they found another renter for my house up there fairly quickly.

My sincere apology to Goes211. I didn't notice in nowakes quote that he was referencing old posts. My bad. Sorry that you were sacrificed so the least productive (on average) part of the pilot group could stick around a few more years.
