Albie: you might try Leonard's BBQ on Fox Plaza Drive between Mendehall and Mt. Moriah sometime for one of your lunches. Interstate BBQ over off I55 is very good as well, but the buffett at Leonard's is really good.

If you do bid something else that pays less on the next bid you may find yourself paying that passover back. You would need to hold on to that H30C bid until you could hold widebody Captain somewhere else if you want to keep the passover pay. Of course, you could treat it like an interest free loan.

Current Seat: 27FM 1st Award Recieving Passover: 27CA Intervening award: 11FM Repay Passover: NO
If a 27SO were to bid and be awarded HKG30CA, then bid to 27FO on a later bid. He would not have to repay passover since the 27FO pays more than his current position (27SO).

I'm glad this came up because I thought that since I was getting passover that I would have to bid at least as high to not have to pay passover back, but I think you are right. I was a Boeing S/O, but am getting passove for the Bus. So if I bid to the right seat of the 75 I won't have to pay it back because the 75 right seat is hihger than the 72 backseat. I thought I had to bid at least right seat of a widebody (what I was holding) to avoid having to pay it back.

I think there are several ways around paying passover the company could use...
1. Over-man Hong Kong. If we have extra guys on seats anyway, why not have them where they need them. Don't bid anything and expect not to go.
2 Cancel the previous bid.
I'm ready for anything. I would not have bid it if I didn't seriously consider all of my options. But if we take a continuing ride on the slowdown, riding it out on a WB left seat would not be a bad place. YMMV.
