Default FDX - Diverts last night

Does anyone have any idea of how many of the diverts were due to low fuel loads by GOC?

Zero. If the fuel load was low, it was the crew's fault.

With a storm system like last night, it might be their fault for not ground holding acft in the field though. They surely knew it was coming.

GOC put 9,000 lbs. of extra on my flight (A-300 LAX-MEM). We made it into MEM after holding for nearly an hour. We had just headed to DFW when MEM opened back up. We were lucky!

Out of curiosity from a non-Fedex'r, what kind of FOD's were GOC planning to land you guys with the other night. 50 diversions was the last I counted. We got lucky here in Looneyville and the worst of the wx stayed south of us.

I was one of the 69 diverts. Most were due to low fuel due to mother nature. Best bet would've left more jets on the ground and waited it out. Instead, we launched a huge wave hoping to get in before it hit the fan.

Where in the Fuel Sense Initiative does it say that a crew cannot use their own sound, professional judgement to ensure that there is enough fuel for the flight? By the way, who said that the fuel sense initiative was the crew's fault? Did you read it?
