carryover and conflicting training-FDX
I am on Reserve a 1-9 MAY(5-9may is in the next bid month). What happens if I do training on 3-4 may. Does it wipe out that whole string of Rdays including those in the next month and if so when do I make that time up (APR or May CIC window)
Thanks
Guess my real question is a string of Rdays that carry over from one month to another still a string, or does a new string start on the first of the month,
Thanks

How can you get 3+4 May training dates w/the May bidpack?
But,
sounds like you will not be assigned recurrent training if you have any carryover activities. (See 11.c which is just above the link)
https://pilot.fedex.com/contract/cba....shtml#11.d.ii
Never been in your shoes, so, not exactly sure how the schedulers will treat it....but, if they do give it to you, 11.f.ii means all of the R days go away and are eligible for makeup.
Kind of painful to realize that someone with carryover minimizes the amount of training dates they can be awarded. But, makes sense from the company perspective though. They don't want to be prevented from awarding that carryover trip you signed up for by not protecting min days off for May.

Different ... but related subject. I didn't put in a training preference (CMV2/CLOE) bid as I was on vacation and forgot all about it. Here's what happened. They assigned me training during my longest trip (which of course they dropped without pay). The trip with the back-end d/h from my home town! The trip I bid the entire line for!
I suppose I could blame this on myself (I failed to put in a training bid) but there should be at least some automatic protection from this kind of abuse?
PS ... the futures scheduler says that if you don't submit a preference, that "computer" assigns you the first available training slot and drops any trip in conflict. Now that makes a lot of sense! We wouldn't want any thought given to training assignments that affect our pay now, would we?

I did a lot of Guard days that month, so it was a wash, but I was (am) still kind of ****ed that no one does a sanity check on that process before the computer drops your whole month.
After looking at the contract and talking to several people in future scheduling, I found out that when this happens, we're supposed to pick makeup trips out of open time once the view/add window opens, before the normal open time release. Better than nothing I suppose, but I'd still prefer a more proactive approach. Open time ain't what it used to be.

question is if you have a block of rdays that carry over into another month, is that one string or two. If you train on the first day of the month are you also knocking out the rdays in the previous month or is it considered a new string when the month starts? Same at the end of the month. I would guess new month new string.
