I didn't mean to turn it into a grammar lesson -- we all make our share of mistakes, don't we? I was just trying to be cute with the picture. (By the way, did you happen to click the picture? )

My wife (girlfriend at the time) got sick the first time she ate Krystals -- she got over it. They're a family favorite now. I have no idea what's edible at Christal's.

Panties for sure, but they have some flavorings and oils that will make many things taste good.

I got sick once in the field from something I ate in Shanghai. Ended up in SFS on an IV for 4 days. I was removed from the trip and when able, jumpseated home (FP in ANC admitted he screwed up - I should have gotten a ticket home). I was docked sick leave for the remainder of that trip and a few R days the next month as I was still not "solidly" well.

Anyway, filed it with workman's comp and my sick bank was eventually reinstated for all the sick I was docked.

This was Jul-Aug 97, so your mileage may vary!

Workman's Comp? Never thought of that. I'm not sure if it's something I ate or if I've just gotten flu, if that matters. Why workman's comp and not sick leave? Because it happened while actually on the job?
I made it home today. It was painful. Just checked my .pfc pairing and it still ends after block in from my last leg, when I called crew sched and said I couldn't continue. Felt well enough today to look at the cba and it says pay should continue until next show time, then remainder should be made up from sick bank. For the hangar lawyers, I had another couple of legs that night, then 30 something hours layover. Do you interpret cba as meaning showtime for the next leg, i.e. a couple of hours, or showtime after next layover.

My revised pairing ended at block-in for the last leg I flew and the remaining credit hours for the trip came out of my sick bank. I know that doesn't answer your question, but shows consistency with the company's math.

Also, the company will not build a deadhead pairing back to domicile because you are no longer on the clock when you call in sick. According to the CBA they will buy you a plane ticket back to domicile or home whichever costs less.

The fox system is painful. I didn't have a scheduled leg back to Memphis and as previously mentioned there were all kinds of error messages.

Doesn't workman's comp differentiate between illness and injury?

I went sick on a trip due to food I ate a contract hotel. I filed a workman's comp claim and my sick bank was made whole via workman's comp! Workman's comp is basically inusrance - you pay for it!!

All I know is I filed a workman's comp claim and had my sick bank replenished for every minute used while out during that instance. Its up to FedEx to verify your claim that it was work related as far as I know, and in my case they did. If it matters, I actually got sick while on the aircraft. I had had a gassy bloated feeling all day in Shanghai prior to alert. During cruiser from SHA-SFS I had to go make a head call. I though I would be fine, but once I started I coldn't stop - I returned to the cockpit below 14K ft. Once on the ground, I never it past the head in SFS ops. 20 mins after using the head in sFS ops I was back in there again, and then I told GOC I was done. Maybe this all made a difference, I don't know!

(FWIW - this was the same trip (my last ANC based trip) where during an earlier turn through SFS I saw our illustrious current VP of Flt Ops sitting in SFS Ops on a DFT trip that turned out overlapped a trip that FPA had bought for union work!)
