Used Flight Tracker to ck some flights randomly (I was off, for once!!!)- seemed anywhere from 2-4 hours late was normal. Looking at the wx I'm amazed anything got out. MIghty glad to sit this one out.

That damn ABX Air and Joe Hete, they made it snow so all the Astar flights would be late.

Maybe they are in cahoots with the German Postal so that DHL and Astar get parted out FedEx. Isn't that rumor still floating around?

Scheduler said all got out except the MCI flight. Scheduler said that during the push back it hit a 9 in the alley. (not sure how you miss a 9 behind you but that is a different story)

The real hero's of that night were the ground people. Yes I had to wait 1 hour to get the loader pushed up to the plane but that was a small price to pay. The thank you needs to go out to the ground department they kept the airport open (DAY closed) the freight moving and the customer (DHL) in the game. (not that DHL will notice or care)

True that. I'm just glad no one had a trip to the hospital. That's the amazing part. Sort should have been cancelled till today. No question about that.

On the FDX message board sounds like they had 3-4 hour delays also. I would be willing to bet UPS went through the samething. Looks like no one wanted to cancel!

No one wanted to blink first, definitely a high stakes poker match with bragging rights for anyone that did not fold.

How much freight got left behind? Perhaps DHL would have been better off to run the sort Sunday nite/Monday morning. That way only the Saturday delivery packages would have been late. Now the freight that got left will either be delivered on Tuesday or an extra cycle (ie an additonal sort) will have to run on Sunday/Monday to make delivery times. If so, the loud flushing sound is DHL putting more money down the toilet.
