Default UPS active file with new symbol?

General Information
I've been active (second officer app) since 09/2006. I logged in to update my medical, times, etc. and I see the above symbol. Never was there before. It appears at the beginning of each section. Any idea of what it is or means? Bar code maybe?
I'm probably just excited that something happened. Actually, yes I am excited!

I am also active, went in the pool 07/07 and I also have this symbol now. No clue what it might mean, wasn't there before.

Thanks for the update. So this is not something that has happened in the past?

Did you not fill out a 2007 app? If not, don't expect to ever be called according to what HR has said in the past. If they maintain the statue quo, there will be a 2008 app to fill out if the window opens again this year.

Slice,
Thanks for checking to see if I did fill out app 2007. I did but, it is only "on file". Yes, I have two apps in at this time. The second and first officer. Only the second officer is active. It will not let me update the first officer app.

Cool. Good luck. I wish their system was more transparent. New guys below me on the list are always welcome.

TXair - does the symbol you describe shift colors every now and then?
I believe you might be describing the new brownie wannabe tracking widget!

Every time you log into your profile a snap shot is taken of you (…and you thought your computer didn’t have a camera built into it) and the picture is downloaded into a nationwide face recognition database. So basically, whatever you do and wherever you are – someone is looking at you!
Just remember that next time you happen to “forget” to pay your gas bill at a BP gas station, will ya? C'mon, did you really think we wouldn’t notice, huh?

Seriously, I hope the new “widget” in your applications means that hiring will resume pretty soon.
However, yesterday as I was eavesdropping on a conversation between a senior captain and an FE over 60 (I know it’s rude to eavesdrop on others but I have a Patriot act clearance for that ) I got slightly depressed.

The FE said someone “high up” in the union told him that a displacement bid is coming within the next few weeks - not a vacancy bid but a displacement bid. What amazed me was when he said he’ll have about 2 ½ years in the left seat once he gets it back before he has to go back to the panel all over again (he was 62 ½). His plans were to go back to the FE panel for at least 2 years after his new mandatory pilot retirement age – in other words his plans were to retire at 67. Some people just love to work I guess…

Again, it’s all rumors and who knows what’ll really happen. I got a feeling it won’t be as bad as some of us might be thinking but we’ll have to wait and see…I’d love to see the pool drained soon though.

I ran into Warren from HR the other day and he said that there should be a bid coming out to address the Classic and over 60 guy's and the he said to my surprise, we should start hiring again about 3 or so months after that. Wow. I still think were done for the year but this was a positive word I thought I'd pass on.

I don't think anyone on the line knows no matter who's cousin's uncle's sister's grandma's brother who used to be a ramper says.

AV8OR,
Thanks for the scoop. Well, I had to try it. Yes, the colors do start to move around! Have a great day!
