For those of you actually in Memphis, The Weather Channel just stated that the Memphis Airport Fire Department had the roof blown off due to the recent storm. Is this true?
Any ideas how this will affect Ops tonight (and even tomorrow)??
Just curious if there was any damage to the equipment. That could affect the pax airlines.....regs require certain types of equipment available based on the seat config of the aircraft.

If you are watching the local memphis news you'd think the apocalypse was happening.
I lived in OKC during the 1999 and 2003 tornado and their coverage was nothing like this.
But there are a lot of storms tonight, the inbound should be interesting.
Also, the news did say one FedEx hangar had its roof blown off, but no pics yet.

There is significant damage, especially near the airport (Hickory Ridge Mall and in Southaven). This damage is from pop up storms ahead of the cold front. Unfortunately, the massive squall line is still coming and will hit Memphis within the hour.
