FedEx Corp. CEO Frederick Smith has been named one of the 62 best CEOs in America by Institutional Investor magazine.
This is the fourth year the magazine has identified the top CEOs in 62 industries. This year, Smith was chosen as the best CEO in the air freight and surface transportation industry, the magazine announced Friday.
Last week, Memphis-based FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX - News) was named one of the best big companies by Forbes Magazine and one of the best 100 companies to work for by Fortune Magazine.
America's best CEOs must be visionary leaders, possess great integrity and deliver superior results, the magazine said about its ranking, rated by investors and brokerage firm analysts. To find excelling CEOs, Institutional Investor surveyed 1,700 investment professionals at 475 firms. The results of the survey appear in the magazine's January issue.
The 62 top-performing CEOs in their domains also include Gary Loveman, Harrah's Entertainment CEO. Harrah's (NYSE: HET - News) is the owner of Grand Casino Tunica, the Horseshoe Casino and Sheraton Casino in Tunica, Miss.
