If a pick up time is changed it should be reflected in the pairing!
Here are the problems:

1. Ramp ignores you and still calls early. Fine, but I'd rather have 15 minutes extra sleep at 3 a.m. Yes, I go down as scheduled, but sleep is important.

2. Plane is delayed and the alert call is later. Now how do you know if they added the time or not (they do, you don't). Try asking the agent that. You can get the answer if he gives the departure time, but I'm not a morning person and trying to wring that information was difficult at best with a foggy head.

Bottom line is that more Captains need to file Ops Report and the union needs to get on the ball on this and get it fixed.

Good luck with the union. I complained to them about the NRT-NGO-PVG all nighter with 3+ hours sitting on the NGO ramp recently. I never even got a reply. Better off with complaing to JP, he might tell you tough @#$%, but at least you won't get blown off.

I also agree...if nothing is written up, nothing will change. Squeaky wheel mentality...
Doh, you're right. Got alerted 4 hrs early once for MXP-KWI-MXP (we were sitting on the ramp in KWI when GW told Saddam he had 48hrs). It took almost 2 days of bugging my Capt (a DO at the time) to get our pairing changed to reflect the early alert (alert was as originally scheduled, but the inbound from EWR was 4 hrs late and MXP did not get the word though CRS had revised the pairing to show the later departure) - 18+32 duty day to 22+32. Eventually we got it done, but as you can imagine it made a big difference in pay and legal rest.

Most crews don't change the times, so the company wins.
You need to tell the guys affected to e-mail the PSIT or SIG. If the SIG gets enough e-mails they WILL be able to affect some change.

That is the bottom line! I've found that Pilot Ops reports, times I've used them, have always gotten me responses, especially involving hotels and rest!

How did you finally convince the Capt you were flying with? We all know there is pressure from higher up to keep from making revisions that result in more pay, no matter how "right" it is to make the revision.

Took time, he mainly was dragging his butt. The CDG ACP was involved - she actually apologized for the early alert and bought us breakfast in the MXP airport. Since we were double crewed, we had another Capt involved too.

The first I realized that CRS was not on the same page as us was while sitting on the ramp on KWI realizing we were going to exceed the duty day for a 4 man crew. The Capt in question wanted to depart anyway. I had to remind him that I didn't want to get stuck in KWi either, but prior to departing MXP we briefed that if the day got long that we might go to DXB, or maybe even Cairo. There is an FAR that allows flights to exceed FAR limits in certain cases while in support of CRAF. After many ACARS to the on duty DO, we finally got approval to depart under that FAR. 22+32 duty day. My non-member DO Capt was a real dumb arse, his initials were S.McL.

I hope you are right. I just filled my first one out about the catering out of VCP. I was sick for 10 hours when I got home and then slept 20 hours. Only up side was that I lost 7 pounds. It was ugly coming out but it's gone now. I wonder what the company will do or say if anything?
