FDX-Are we going to have a miraculous healing?
HR 4343 added additional medical requirements
“No person who has attained 60 years of age may serve as a pilot of an air
carrier engaged in covered operations unless the person has a first-class
medical certificate….”
CBA 24.A.3 requires that a pilot posses a current FAA medical certificate
for the respective crew position “prior to being awarded” the position.
That means, prior to the closing of the respective bid for that position.
Please note that Bid 08-01 closes on February 18, 2008.
So Second Officer Foxhunter, how is that injury?

When I opened the thread I thought it was about healing Unity within the Membership...
Back to topic....
Lots of healing. Do the under 60 guys have to carry the over 60 guys suitcases up the stairs? Do they offer a tip? How much should I ask for?

I see the sparring going on here, and maybe I'm missing something, but as far as I know, all you need to pass a FAA medical is eyes, ears, whiz in a cup and a hundred bucks. And the occasional ECG. Being NOQ on disability is a whole other animal. Not to put a damper on your little needling session or anything...

I think what they are referring to are all of the over 60 geezers that have been out for 6, 12, 18 months or more on medical disability. Now that the left seat is available again, all of those mystery back ailments and migraine headaches will suddenly cure themselves.

Yeah, well I don't doubt THAT at all...
This specific guy, FH is out on disability with a shoulder problem. I just don't think that has anything to do with holding a 1st class medical, per HR 4343. Just guessing, though.

Kong,
Yeah, I see what you're saying, but as I said...that won't stop GC from holding a 1st class FAA medical...it'll just stop him from going to work until the shoulder is fixed. All he needs for the bid award is to possess the medical.
