Hub Turn Meeting
Since we got a timely reminder ... about 1:30 this afternoon, I was hoping that our new and improved comm plan would already have a point paper out on what is on tap.
(I don't recall ever seeing an initial notification...but I could have missed it!)

We have not had any meeting on any of this BS in ANC or SFS since Nov. Don't us rabble rousers at least get a hey how are you doing every once in a while? Thanks for the informative and up to date minutes yesterday from the NOVEMBER ALPA meeting in ANC. ****

Hub Meeting
I attended the meeting and it was not very informative, but one pilot did stand up and tell DW that the contract was a "piece of sh**". The following animal act was very entertaining. DW's basic response was that he was tired of the pilot excuses about the problems with current contract. He stated the only way the union can negotiate a good contract is if the membership stops flying DPs, selling back vacation and starts showing up to picketing events to let the company know we are serious. I'm not sure I could argue with him, but then again I'm just a heavy equipment operator.
He also explained why hiring an outside firm to negotiate the next contract would not really help the next round of talks. I left after that. Overall, I would say you didn't miss a great deal. Don't sweat the load.

isn't it MEC Leadership that will stop the DP flying? isn't it MEC Leadership that gets the dirt bags to stop flying 100hrs a month during negotiations? isn't it MEC Leadership that gets all of the members to stop selling back their vacation during negotiations? (etc., etc.)
i think DW needs to stick his finger in his own chest...(instead of his thumb up his bum)
just my 2 cents

Don't forget his override pay - something like $1500 a month. Oh and that expense account. I'd be tired too - tired of fillet at Ruth Chris. I'm sure he's ready for some good food in Annapolis during the next round of negotiations.
Can anyone remember when DW actually did a month of hub-turns? Tired my A$$. It's amazing that DW thinks this is all our fault. Granted the crewforce hasn't been the most solid BUT at a time when solidarity was starting to happen- he sells us down the river for a chance at a ALPA national.
