Hub Turn Meeting

There is one. It's used but not frequented much by people who usually hang out here. The only problem with the ALPA web board is that they "purge" the board so you can't go back at a later date and review old posts. That shouldn't happen.

Thanks man
Thanks! Perhaps something short and pithy like Rush's "Ditto's"
Something to indicate you're not an AMINO "Alpa Member In Name Only"
or that you heap great scorn on voluntary DP flyers.
Maybe we ought to just add that quote to our signatures.....I believe in mass hypnosis.

Glad they came out...
I was there too last nite. No Mempho type, just j/s'ing through...
Actually, when it was over a lot of the questions that those of us who frequent these boards were answered, and answered pretty well. The crowd started out fairly hostile, and a couple of guys came on pretty strong from the audience voicing their displeasure. Several of the Blk reps spoke briefly, but DW piped in and didn't hold back much. Pointed some fingers, called some folks out. And frankly, he made some good points.
My personal beef (Why can't we police the DP fliers?) went unanswered, which was frustrating. But the rest of the info was informative and helpful.
The discussion on "hired gun" attorneys to help with negotiations was an "Oh Really?" moment for quite a few. He went thru the team of atty's, their quals, and some of the detail on how things work day to day. I was satisfied with the answer on this one.
In short, this whole ALPA thing is kinda like watching sausage being made:
it isn't pretty to look at during the process, but in the end the result is generally worth it. IMO

I know my block rep yada yada. The problem with ALPA lawyers is they are ALPA lawyers not FEDEX MEC lawyers. Otherwise we would not have given up so much in the LOA for the sake of perceived RLA protection in the FDAs.

None other than Wally Huggins, former MEC Vice, ran a resolution up the flagpole saying that before an endorsement is made the membership should be polled. Cool thing is he made motion at a meeting, and it not only got adopted by the MEC but by national as well.

Is there anything in that resolution that says that they have to ABIDE by the results of the poll?
