Aint speculative for the guys who had their 20-35 dollar an hour pay raises canceled. Or did you miss where they canceled the previous postings?

I always said, Yes and I wouldn't tell anybody and do it while on a fuel stop in Nadi, Fiji. Then one of the original FedEx pilots told me, that while that's a nice idea that FedEx would probably sue you if you did that. Ruined my fun .. course I haven't won a lottery yet either.
There is nothing illegal about quiting a job at anytime or moment, we are not under contract individually. I don't think there is anything in the contract keeping you from quiting FedEx at any minute.

Something doesn't have to be illegal to get a lawsuit filed ...

Guys it is over. Age 60 is here to stay. Let's all move on. If someone wants to work until 65 they can do it now. It does not make them some kind of scum sucking scab crewmembers. I don't like it either, but there is nothing we can do about it. It has been signed into law. There are plenty of other things for us to "bellyache" about.

Well, so far, the only people who would have been in training from the previous postings are in training (got a good friend in FO training from 07-03.) The subsequent bid has not closed, and therefore, any talk about how many people actually lost positions, how many over-60s will get trained versus getting passover, and how many secondaries get filled, is all still speculation. After all, we all know how accurate practice bids are.

Also, as the new law is only one month old, no one, including you and I, knows (beyond their own personal situation) who will or won't retire at the "normal contract" age versus the "regulated" age.

Well my training date was for 25 Feb. Glad to think it is speculative that I won't be there. Since I canceled my crash pad is that $200 refundable or is that speculative?

I do know the company is not planning on filling as many secondaries. That is not speculative and that is costing me money.

This part I don't agree with.

We helped the old dudes out with VEBA. The least they can do now is pay a percentage (tax) to the association to help out anyone who gets furloughed because of the "overstaffing" caused by 150 Newhires (Oldhires?).

Well, if you don't go to training for another seat until Feb of 2011, I'll admit that PPP was not just speculating and pulling stuff out of his rear.

Since you obviously had no plans to upgrade; and will only be slightly inconvinced by a couple more dudes in front of you in the bid pack, I can see where this could be speculative. Me, I now have to bid DC-10 back seat so I can hope to get excessed. So yes I will be in training before 2011. But it will cost me a lot of money and a lot more quality of life.

Again it is perspective, looking down at the peons, it could be speculation. Not so looking up.
