Default training and R days

From what I understand, if you have a line that is a continuous block of R days, and you schedule training in the middle, the entire block of R-days will be dropped. Does this work for R-24 as well as R-A and R-B?

Just make sure you go into the CIA window or your pay could be 0 for the month.

Default R-Days and Mil Leave

Subtle twist to the thread but this situation came up for me today and I got a bit nervous and I'm looking for some guidance.

My Air Force reserve unit needs me to take a trip to help them out and that trip is smack in the middle of a string of R-24 days I have right now in the Jan Bid month.

My initial inclination was to request Mil Leave for 4 of the R-days to fly the trip and then resume my R-24 line and I submitted the request to reflect that. But I got nervous about the entire rest of my R-24 line being dropped and I cancelled the request until I could get an answer. So should I call contract enforcement or does someone here have an answer to this question?

Can I drop 4 days in the middle of a 19day string of R-days without the entire group being cancelled?

Thanks for the input!

JP

Yes. No problem at all. That only pertains to training.

Call scheduling and see what they say, then talk to CE and compare answers.

OK.. Thanks for the responses so far.

I called CE and left a message in the meantime crew scheduling says....

Only the days requested will be dropped and to be sure to be available 24hours prior for notification before my next scheduled day of R-24...

*** Update***

Put the request in.. was approved... and only the 4 days for MLA dropped.. CE said the same thing as crew scheduling.

Again thanks for the input from everyone.
