Default Yet another FDX reserve question

I have reserve carryover in Feb. Do I need to conflict these R days to get to pick up trips in the view/add window or can I just drop days to protect min days off?

Also, if I choose min days off, do the dropped days go into my makeup bank??

Thanks

Can either conflict them or protect min days off and yes they go in your makeup bank.

EIther way you get to pick up trips in view add window. BY protect min days off I assume you mean select "protect min days off"in the 36 hour window (not just drop Rdays)

umm, no, you get to "add" trips for a conflict.....so, if you don't have any R days conflicts.....don't have any Carry In Conflicts to makeup.

and if you select min days off, the R days will go into the M/U bank, but again, no conflicts there for you to cherry pick any trips prior to the VTO guys getting dibs. (with one rare exception)

For all of the above, view 25.F and E in the contract

Not arguing with this, just confused. Doesn't 25.F.7.a define a carryover/min days off drop situation as a "phase in conflict?" If so, doesn't 25.E.4.b then give him the right to request trips to make up those hours during the View/Add window? I've never tried it, that's just the way I read it. Have you had a different experience?

Okay, the question was carryover R days into another R day bid award.

Using the Feb Bid Month: I have carryover R days that extend through the first week (4-9 Feb)

I am awarded a Reserve line:
a. That conflicts with my carry over days (R line is 4-18 Feb).....so, I can request CIC trips to make up for the 4-9 Feb conflicts.
b. That doesn't conflict with the carry over days (R line is 17 Feb-2 Mar)
No CIC to make up, but, doesn't meet the min days off protection because I am working 21 R days......being a commuter, really don't want to be in Memphis that long so I elect to protect min days off (as section 25.7.F allows me to do)

So, after electing Min Days Off Protection, the company is going to drop my extra 6 R days into my makeup bank....and you apparently somehow think that the company should then allow me to pick up some CIC trips.....which will put me over the min days off protection I just selected?

Retain the R days and work more. Min Days Off Protection will put the R days into your M/U bank.....and when Open Time is released, you can try and work more. But, the View/Add window is only a player for folks with Conflicting assignments (to include recurrent training assignments)

Not being a frequent reserve player, that is how I read the contract and think it works. If anyone has experience to the contrary, please enlighten me

If you have carry-over, do you want to drop activities WITHOUT PAY to protect minimum days off. You answer this question every time you bid. If you do not conflict the days and protect minimum days off, then the time is NOT dropped into make-up. If you conflict the days, the time is available for CIC.

What if you do not conflict the days, but DO protect min days off -- Are the dropped hours available for CIC? I think they are, but haven't ops checked it.

No, I think if you protect mins days but they do not conflict, they just go into regular make up.
