Any info on what excuse the company and ALPA are using this month? This is becoming a regular occurence.

Sometimes the answer is we need more volunteers. You might consider it.

You mean a regular nuisance...I said this before in another post; how is it we used to get the old bid packs on the co. web page early...always...in the "paper" days? yet now, in the electronic era they are always late?

I think it has more to do with the "optimizer and many disputed pairing era"...

Takes a long time to try to fix some to the stuff the company wants us to do. Just my .02

Obviously you haven't if you have time to gab on APC.

It has nothing to do with electronic transmission vs paper. It has everything to do with the optimizer and your PSIT's dedication in not letting crappy lines be delivered to the brethren. Much could be fixed if ALL of the crewforce would not fly disputed pairings, submit sleep logs, file ops reports on onerous sequences, pairing changes, deadhead violations, and not fly fatigued or sick.

I searched the SIG page and I give up, what is a deadhead violation?

I believe it's a deadhead in the wrong class of service. Usually for MD-11 guys.

The SIG wants more input from the crew force. Many people would be surprised to learn that just one e-mail to the SIG about an ongoing issue may result in a changed pairing or line next month. Just because you think as an SO that the CA and FO should write in the problem doesn't mean that they do. If the SIG already knows about the problem they will even write you back in a friendly manner why they can't change it. I have learned a lot writing the SIG.

When the SIG reports a problem fixed the company at some point reruns the optimizer and a similar, but not exactly the same, problem crops up later. So dialogue starts again on the "new" problem. Contrary to popular thought, the company listens to the SIG and fixes many problems but the SIG has to find the problems first. Kinda of like an Easter Egg hunt. The late bid packs have everything to do with fixing this optimizer bufoonery that is handed the SIG before work starts on the Bid packs.

Most of you cats know this...Some newbies do not.
