Short Notice Hub Turn Meeting : Info??

It sucks having to vote with your wallet being the overriding factor, instead of your conscience. This is exactly why we all need to be financially prepared, solvent, and living within our means, so when the time comes we can do the right thing, instead of wearing the golden handcuffs.

Someone enlighten me.
I have been told it is, indeed, possible to furlough out of seniority and is up to the MEC. Is this true?
Before you say no, many thought ALPA merger policy ALWAYS went DOH. Try telling that to a USAirways guy now and he will laugh (or b#@ch slap) you out of the room.

From the manual:
PREAMBLE
The role of ALPA in seniority integration is solely to provide the process by which the affected pilot groups on ALPA airlines arrive at the merged seniority list for presentation to management, through their respective merger representatives, using arbitration if necessary. Responsibility for the merged seniority list falls upon the respective merger representatives with ALPA National in a neutral position on the merits. It must be understood that what appears to be truly "fair and equitable" often differs depending upon the eyes of the beholder and that there may be no consensus of what is "fair and equitable."
...until a fair and equitable agreement is reached, keeping in mind the following goals, in no particular order:
a. Preserve jobs.
b. Avoid windfalls to either group at the expense of the other.
c. Maintain or improve pre merger pay and standard of living.
d. Maintain or improve pre merger pilot status.
e. Minimize detrimental changes to career expectations.
Now...Back to the FDX furlough hysteria.

It is up to the MEC in the same sense that Invol STV is up to the MEC. They can agree to it and hold endless onesided hubturn meetings (wanna fight) untill we vote it in. Maybe get the Chief Pilot to come in during a meeting and explain how it is in our best interest to vote it in. If that dosen't work they can get the FCP (Formerly Chief Pilot) to write a couple of funny E-Mails telling us how it is this way or the highway.

I was opposed to changing age 60 because I didn't want to work past that age, but it happened. That's the way the cookie crumbles. I am more than happy for all of those great folks who just got a good deal. But for anyone to say that we should not all stick together for the common good is ridiculous. Regardless of our opinions on politics, religion or whatever... harming any portion of our group ultimately harms us all.
End of rant.

Folks,
To try and set the record straight. The Capt that said the remark about not reducing BLG to protect the Junior is one of the finest Capt's that I have ever flown with. He is a "pilot to pilot" volunteer and the best layover Capt, never bought a beer with him.
I believe he was try to point out to DW that the union needs to fight, truely fight, before we even think about a reduction in pay. He wanted DW to know how mad the line dogs are. I know him and he would never throw the junior guys under the bus......
A bad choice of words, yes, but a great guy. Some folks may have had a problem with the way I asked my question...Remember, your choice of words, either vocal or in writing sometimes is not the best
If you have ever been to Canada, you know him....loves tossing 'Loones"....

Check 6,
Thanks for setting the record straight. If there was any way for us non-memphian pilots to get intel other than APC it would probably do us all a world of good (Hint to Albie, Vic, Tony and anyone else who would like to see the common Pilot included in ALPA again!).

As far as I know their pay is based on a certain number of credit hours per month, not based on the rest of the crew forces pay. Flight management's pay is the same. The ACP/RCP's are paid 95 hours a month plus a small percentage override(2-4%). I don't think this will change if the crew force gets their BLG reduced.
