Bingo. The primary reason DHL is having trouble in the North American market is because of their lousy customer service. They can offer DHL service from every corner drug store in the country, but that will not guarantee people are going to choose their service - especially with time sensitive material.

I understand FedEx has some indep. contractors, but I'm pretty sure that's mostly for ground shipping?

IMHO they should've done like FedEx did with Flying Tigers, and bought ABX & Astar outright, and instead of contracting Billy Bob local with his minivan, they should have company-owned fleet vehicles and drivers doing the doorfront delivery. You can't have an efficient express delivery system unless everything is integrated top down....duh.
One shouldn't show his/her lack of knowledge on public forums. DHL is prohibited by US law from owning a US carrier. Hence they only could buy a percentage of ASTAR and not outwardly control it. But we all know they truly control what ASTAR does down to what they eat for breakfast.

Walgreens is inefficient? *** are you talking about? Drive-thru pharmacy not good enough for ya? Or is it that they are open 24 hrs a day to get medicine in the middle of the night when your kid is sick? Or could it be that they made you walk down the feminine hygiene isle to pick up your enema bag?

Jeez, it’s a drug store. Just how "efficient" do you need it to be to suit your needs?

Brew,

Your such a nice guy!!!

I have sat in the drivethru line for over an hour. The location I go to by my house has 2 drivethru windows and both of them were at a standstill. This happened multiple times. I guess they don't know the meaning of asking people to pull up. I have gone to pick up a script and the script wasn't available either because they didn't have it in stock even though it was phoned in days prior (Why didn't they call me and waste a trip) or "We must have missed it." I picked up cold medicine off the shelf one day took it to the register waited in line and was told they couldn't ring it up, ""I had to go to the pharmacy" I asked why is it on the shelf then and whay doesn't it say Available in the pharmacy? So I go back to the pharmacy and wait 1/2 an hour to purchase it. Just this week I returned a Clapper I got for a gift and it took 20 minutes for the 2 managers to decide which one was going to come to the front to take care of the return. So like you said I should use the 24 hour drive thru at 3 am Efficient my a$$ DHL/Walgreens a perfect marriage

Wow, you must live in a pretty bad part of town because I never have any problems at my local Walgreens. I don't doubt the DHL part, it was the Walgreens part I had a hard time understanding. But with over 6k stores I guess there has to be some bad ones out there. So, did you get rid of the clap...errr? j/k Let me ask you this, when you go to the drive up pharmacy window, do you hand them the precript then leave and come back or do you sit there and wait for it? Sounds like it's your fellow customers and their lack of courtesy more than the Walgreens. And your cough medicine can be blamed on the creative drug heads out there not Walgreens. But like I said, it's just a drug store, so why expect so much?

Brewster,

I get rid of the clap but it keeps coming back when I go to Asia. I live in a great part of town. Filled with Soccer Moms and Milfs that are as deep as birdbaths. If I need a script I have the Doc phone it in and pick it up later. Your probably right that it is one of the Princess' that live in my neighborhood who seem to forget us little people I get a kick out of going down Vinegar Island and lurking

I always get that "Not So fresh feeling" When I'm at Walgreens
