Under 60 Bid Now
Damage control.... Bid now. The more under 60 pilots that bid for open seats over the next couple of bids will help all of us. In addition it will cause many of the blue hairs to just go ahead and retire. So please BID IT if you can hold it.

Not sure it would help. All of the over 60 crowd in the DC-10 will have the opportunity to grab any seat they can hold via an excess bid. Since all of the DC-10s will be gone by Dec of this year, even the ones that can't hold a seat on the current posting will have another chance.

True, but a lot of them went to the back of the 27 to be senior. Now, unless they can hold something worthwhile on this bid, they will have to wait until there is an excess bid for the 27...or the next bid. To put it politely, there are some folks who went to the back seat of the 727 who have cost themselves a whole sh1tpot of dinero!

Talk's cheap. Show me the upgrade. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons to upgrade, but I've never heard of someone upgrading to a lower quality of life, for the sole purposes of screwing another pilot, over 60 or not. Should be interesting and I'll bet it doesn't happen.

Dec of this year (2008)? Did they double the lines in Venice?
If the economy does not turn around, they may be sitting somewhere mothballed, but I sure have not heard of any 100% acceleration in the conversion schedule
