FedEx ALPA Exex VP Picks up DP
#22
OK Everyone, here is the only safe way I have found to pick up Open Time with so many disputed pairings floating around out there.
1. Buy the BidX program at www.bidx.org (just a fan, not a paid endorser)
2. Go to the Customize tab
3. Select the Advanced tab/ Enter Disputed pairings
4. Go to SIG email and Copy the disputed numbers for your base and plane, and Paste them in the Enter Disputed Pairing window
5. Use the Get OT button on the Customize page to do any of your trip trade with open time stuff. All the disputed pairings can be displayed in red or not at all.
6. It is now impossible to pick up a DP, and maybe someday our schedules will improve because they are getting pretty crappy.
Voila!

Actually it was my second post not my first.
Funny thing, if you actually go and read what my first post was about.
I am pretty busy with National issues.
I do not care about your support or lack there of.
I will not have fun in Paris because I will get rid of the trip.
I said I screwed up, what more would you have me do?

everyone makes mistakes...but not everyone corrects them or acts professional when they make one.

Guys, I say cut him some slack. I have the upmost respect for JF. He and a very small number of others are the reason that we have representation here, in the first place! He screwed up, he's fixing it,...lets move on.
I'm ready for the incoming.
Happy New Year to one and all and I hope that you'll be where you want to be. I won't, but planning on making the best of it

That being said, I stayed up trading until pretty late last night without much luck.
Got up real early this am and hit it hard again starting at 06:00.
I finally traded off it just now at 08:45.
I am no longer on a disputed pairing and I will be more careful next time!
I beg the indulgence of all those I riled-up with a boneheaded mistake.
I got a call late last night that I had done this from a friend and felt like a
"chooch" (Italian for dope).
In actuality, I carefully entered all the DPs in the program BidX so they show up in red. Then I traded on the company web site without looking.
JF
PS:
For all those that spoke of all my time off/trips being bought:
I do about 13 weeks a year for the union.
I try like hell to bid AROUND those union activities.
It is very rare for the union to buy a trip for me.
I believe in the spirit of volunteerism in union activities and always have.
You may like me or hate me, but I don't cost you a dime!

Of course, these are personal PC-based solutions and do not provide protection when trip trading from a Grid computer terminal. For that, one needs to either abstain or have a printed DP list handy.

I almost picked up a DP last night also. It would have fit nicely in my schedule. However, about an hour prior to trip trade zero hour, I went back to the SIG letter and checked all the trips I was trying to trade for and, voila, saw that one of those trips was a DP. I disagree with the SIG as to why it's a DP, but honored their intentions and took it of my list. Unfortunately someone else didn't.
Jim, are you working on a DP advisory for FastBid?

Guys are entitled to make an honest mistake. It looks like that's what happened here. It's the habitual offenders we need to root out and make an example of.
