FedEx ALPA Exex VP Picks up DP

Nice second post. I could respond with some name calling too.. but I won't.
Here is a link to your first post. You will have to scroll down to #75 to read it.

I guess you were too busy with ALPA National issues to worry about us back at the ranch. Maybe you should take a break from the ALPA National business and call your Dutch Uncle.
By the way, you do not have my support.
Have fun in Paris with Ben your FO. I guess we can't really blame him. I'm just bitter because I did not pick up the trip with the sweet front end DH. Next time I will.
By the way you are still on the trip as of 0609Z, must not be enough reserve coverage for you to drop it, so I guess you will just have to fly it. Darn the luck, you tried though, right? I guess that's all the really matters.

Actually it was my second post not my first.
Funny thing, if you actually go and read what my first post was about.
I am pretty busy with National issues.
I do not care about your support or lack there of.
I will not have fun in Paris because I will get rid of the trip.
I said I screwed up, what more would you have me do?

However...the scary part here is that there must be a ton of strenuous and time consuming "national issues" in Herndon to handle. BM is in search of Asst Communications team members (certainly not needed due to overwhelming communication to the crewforce), DW is virtually invisible save for an email every few months, and our VP just proved that National issues trump local.
We always knew these guys were part-time volunteers, trying to do what they can in a limited amount of time. But it does make you wonder how much of that time and $ stays within FX ALPA vs. going to HQ.
Split it too much and our local interests end up becoming a hobby. Then, it's no wonder we see boneheaded moves like the due diligence on the LOA, etc. etc.
PS: Nice attitude on the "I do not care..." comment. Coolness and calmness under fire is always a great trait in an elected leader.

OK, honest mistake. To be taken care of. Fine.

Actually I did read your first post. In fact there is a link to it in my reply to you. You must have read my post before I did an edit. Maybe you should go read it again.
Glad you are busy with national issues. Why don't you spend some time trying to fix your own house first?
Glad you don't care. I guess it is because you can't be voted out of office. Maybe you should just quit like some one else did, but it is hard to leave the gravy train isn't it. Hopefully we can get enough people in the MEC that we can support and we can get rid of you and others.
1026Z and still on the trip.
Great you screwed up, thanks for admitting it, never should have happened from someone in your position. However, you came out the gate calling names, and your third post shows even more of your lack of respect for the crew force.

OK Everyone, here is the only safe way I have found to pick up Open Time with so many disputed pairings floating around out there.
1. Buy the BidX program at www.bidx.org (just a fan, not a paid endorser)
2. Go to the Customize tab
3. Select the Advanced tab/ Enter Disputed pairings
4. Go to SIG email and Copy the disputed numbers for your base and plane, and Paste them in the Enter Disputed Pairing window
5. Use the Get OT button on the Customize page to do any of your trip trade with open time stuff. All the disputed pairings can be displayed in red or not at all.
6. It is now impossible to pick up a DP, and maybe someday our schedules will improve because they are getting pretty crappy.
Voila!

Your comments, especially the ALPO National blah blah blah, indicate you probably don't feel like you made a mistake in the first place.
I'm glad others are watching your schedule and are more than willing to point it out to you.
Hopefully you'll be more careful in your Bid Line Adjustments in the future.

"Guys, I say cut him some slack. I have the upmost respect for JF. He and a very small number of others are the reason that we have representation here, in the first place! "
I appreciate what JF has done to help get a union on the property. I also appreciate what DW did to get a union on the property. I do think he made a mistake and am willing to give him slack on this issue. What I am really tired of though is the attitude that seems to roll down from those in charge when questioned about decisions and or mistakes. I do think they have lost touch with the line pilot and almost treat their concerns, especially if they are concerns with their performance, with disdain and arrogance. I really think we needed to get some new leadership in there that doesn't hold those that may not agree with them in contempt. DW and now JF seem to fit that mold. BC also fit that mold and I think BM is not that much different. I do think the criticism about our MEC's focus being too much on ALPA National and not enough on us is legit. We pay our MEC to look out for us, not John Prather and co. On many issues I believe they have failed us in that regard. Anyway, JF gets a pass for making a mistake, but takes a hit for having no diplomacy in doing so. Not that I ever found him very diplomatic in the first place! LOL..
