As a matter of fact, yes. I had it removed. The doc asked me what APAAD meant.

Hey Bus, you may not mind the change, that is cool. Most of you are better men than me because you can take the knife out of your back and smile at the dudes that put it there. You can maybe forgive and move on.

I'm not wired that way. I will never get over it and I will never accept it for anything but the rape job it was. Sorry if I don't meet everybody else's standard of forgiveness.

Try this on: you can mark down Dec 13 2007 as the day you lost your A plan. It will take some time, but it will go away. Write it down. Your ability to retire at 60 went away too. You might be able to quit work at 60 some day, but you won't have a defined benefit pension that you signed on with.

Some guys at other carriers lost their pensions due to 911, economic factors, and unscrupulous management aided by bankruptcy judges. We just lost ours thanks to the efforts of our fellow brethren because they didn't have the class, dignity and self respect to step down gracefully. Maybe that doesn't bug you, but it bugs the he11 out of me.

Thanks to our buddies at APAAD and SWAPA and oh yeah, ALPA national and our good ole FedEx MEC.

Bohica.....I clearly understand your sentiments. It was a buttjam any way we look at it. But you have your health, a great job and probably a family that you share your successes with. APAAD and the SWAPA are faceless organizations that ran this bus right over the top of us. The vast majority of the guys who take advantage of the law change are simply guys who decide to do what the law says they can do. I'm not gonna waste the emotional energy worrying about it anymore. It's a done deal.

Hey Bohica, please do me a favor and email me your real name and employee number, because I want to make sure that if I ever get a chance to fly with you, that I immediately call in sick. No one enjoys flying with someone as full of venom as you appear to be. What's happened, happened and we can: try to fix it in the future; accept it and move on; or we can become so overwhelmed by it that it sours us for the rest of our careers. Your choice. Sort of like the guys who still blame the Tigers merger for their loss of seniority, 18 years ago.

No, not at all. Just tired of your constant complaining. Most guys here don't like many of the things that have transpired over the past few years, but most have at least, tried to move on. Perhaps you should try that too. Anyway, Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year to you. And by the way, your name and employee number didn't come across in your last post, perhaps you could try again.

Bohica,

Funny stuff about the milk. Some of the replies are still cracking me up.

I agree with JJ that this thing is mostly over, now we will just have to wait and see how this thing gets implemented. What can we do now? I think we need to clean house at FDX ALPA and find some guys that have the nads to stand up and speak their mind. We're off to a good start with a few new block reps. It looks like we are starting to fix some of our problems, and I believe that requires new faces in the union. A total house cleaning will take some time, but if we show the resolve to vote for new faces, we will hopefully have people that will represent the membership.

I don't know how this thing has turned so bad in such a short period of time, but it's time to get some folks in office that will actually listen to us.

This had a real negative effect on a lot of us, but instead of being bitter, let's fix the problem. The problem is FDX ALPA leadership.

On the positive side, at least a few people are still actually retiring!
