FDX--Age 60 guys wanting to come back w/o bid
Ladies and Gentlemen-
Just heard from an impeccable authority that the MEC has met over the age 60 return to fly issue and the block 1 rep is pushing very hard to allow these folks back to front seats w/o a bid. Call your block rep and make sure they know that these guys cannot come back without a bid and to vote as such!!

I think for about 4500 guys that would literally be the straw that will break the camel's back. How could anybody trust our MEC if they first fight for the age increase (against the wishes of the "vast majority"), then push really hard for retroactivity and then finally sweeten the pot by throwing this potential red herring at the rest of the crew force? I don't think DW is that politically deaf......is he???

You don't think DW and some of the other Senior (citizen) members of the MEC don't personally have a dog in this fight? I'm not sure of his age, but if appearances are any indicator, he is very close to 60. And while his days on the FedEx MEC may be numbered, promotion to some cushy ALPA National post for a few more years past age 60 at big $$ is not out of the question. Time will tell.

I heard with my own ears DW say in a crewroom meeting about the issue that:
He was doing it because "it was right" .
That retro in the bill was a longshot.
That a bid would be required.
What he DOES now of course may not follow what he SAID, but that is what he said.
