Although I might wish you were right, I'm not so sure. There may be some sort of 'delayed training' scenario they could be in.

Also, I'm pretty sure JL, and all others at the decision making level, did not have some inside info and know this was coming quite as quickly, and in the way, that it happened.

Were their names listed at the end of the training letters? --- like LCAs & Flexes who were awarded the seats on a bid, but delayed due to their current jobs.

Is such a "delayed training scenario" explicitly written in the CBA?

If not --- foul, foul, foul!

What is a bid if not a choice? The fact that the CBA says the company will "accommodate" a pilot going to the S/O position at the regulated age is, in effect, a bid; or more precisely, a choice on the part of the pilot.

One thing is for sure: we aren't going to get to decide this. Some big city lawyers wearing $1500 suits and smoking Cubanos are gonna laugh all the way to the bank when the lawsuits start flying over this.

"Most of the chatter i see is from "younger" folks acting like something was taken FROM them BY the "older" folks. I suspect all the pilots that were in favor, combined, had very little influence in the decision to construct this legislation.
But anyway, like I said, good luck with all that, glad it's not happening with such ugliness at our place.
Cheers,
WG"

Oh yeah..Aren't you the lucky one!! Cheers!

I agree...it's a choice, not a bid. The terminology is going to be important for those $1500 suit wearing lawyers you mentioned...
